Random question that I'd ask in the music thread except I never go there so I don't want to interrupt and skip to the end:

Anyone know any (preferably good) songs that mention Columbus? That is, Columbus Ohio, not Columbus the explorer. I usually make a mix every year after going to the conference I just attended, and try to put a song in that has to do with the city it was held in...this year it was Columbus.

I missed the Africa cities discussion - I would have guessed Addis.

That's all I have for 100+ posts.

I am losing my voice, like I have almost every fall since college. I didn't lose it last year though, and because of that mac does not believe me that it is not a big deal. I am trying not to speak much, but when I do he gets all concerned.

he has a belt test for karate tomorrow night and I do not think he is prepared. At some point this evening I have to make him turn off the PS2 and practice until he can do these 20 steps cold.

“Not dead yet!”

I can't think of any songs that mention Columbus off the top of my head, meara, but whenever I hear "Hang On, Sloopy" I think of Columbus, because it brings to mind Ohio State, because it's a song that their band plays, which is probably really way too random and I'll shut up now and go back to watching 80s vids.

ok that Palin article, I think Dana linked to - ?!?!?!?!? Federal BAN on gay marriage, but states should be the ones to decide about abortion - and isn't like every other line of hers about government getting out of our lives? between that and calling Obama a socialist, but saying the bailout ISN'T socialist - there's a fairly large consistency problem, right?

I just covered one period of class for another teacher. One student (9th grade) bit another.

Just call me "Siouxsie Shunshine".

I just covered one period of class for another teacher. One student (9th grade) bit another.

I'd love to say that I'm shocked; however, I have a Senior who has regressed into biting. How do you break a 17 year old of this sort of habit? Can you imagine the phone call? "Hi, I'm your child's Drama teacher and I'm a little worried about her biting another student today." On the other hand, maybe she'll bite DD. He got slapped by a Freshman girl a week or so ago.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

WHY is my cat meowing???? Please stop!

Of course my cat meowed right into the phone in the middle of my tense meeting this morning. Awesome. I actually think only the other person on the phone noticed, but still.
