My impressions of Australia come from
Priscilla Queen of the Desert
and
Sirens
(both of which I recommend heartily for your Buffista viewing pleasure, BTW).
David -- how cool! I hadn't come across that before. Now I have to go take some panorama-type pictures to try it out on! It's amazing to me how much about animation and other visual disciplines is really about making stuff more like the human eye
perceives
rather than how the phenomenon really
is
-- such as, if you want to show gears or wheels spinning really fast, it's much easier to animate a blur rather than rotate a wheel spinning extremely fast. The blur will look more "real" 90% of the time....
My impressions of New York are from The Channel 2 News, with Jim Jensen (I lived in the suburbs, never went into the city much).
My impressions of LA were from Emergency! and The Rockford Files.
My first impression of Australia was from a show I saw in syndication called
Whiplash >[link]
with Peter Graves. I wanted his hat. I Googled because I didn't remember the name of the show, just Peter Graves and Australia, and learned that Gene Roddenberry wrote for it.
Mine was Skippy! Which was like Flipper but with a kangaroo.
Dear lord, I remember this show. Probably better than Flipper, for some reason.
Love, love, love Priscilla with a deep and abiding passion.
Speaking of Australia, saw an extended preview for Baz's new film last night during Mad Men and was melting into a puddle of goo over the absolute gorgeousness. (And Huge Jackman looked quite lovely too *g*)

But with even cheesier theme music. [link]
Family Guy: Nazis Back McCain-Palin (VIDEO)
The popular TV show "Family Guy" took a shot at the McCain-Palin ticket tonight. In one scene three Nazis are walking down the street when they are accosted by Stewie and have their uniforms stolen. Stewie notices a campaign button on his new jacket, and a closeup reveals it's a McCain-Palin button.
But with even cheesier theme music.
I didn't even need the link to remember it.
Huh. After all the Republican concern over fraud in voter registration, someone was actually arrested for this. And it was a Republican.
This just in as Brad is headed over to the FOX News studios. Yesterday the Los Angeles Times reported on the Republican voter registration outfit who had allegedly been illegally changing thousands of registrations from Democratic to Republican.
Last night the head of that GOP backed group, Mark Anthony Jacoby of Young Political Majors (YPM), was arrested by the California State Election Fraud Taskforce and Oxnard, CA Police.
According to CA SoS Debra Bowen's press release, Jacoby himself had committed voter registration fraud and perjury by lying on his own voter registration form. (That's similar to what Ann Coulter did, though she not only committed felony voter registration fraud, she also committed actual voter fraud, as well, even though such fraud is exceedingly rare.)
Well, I guess they proved their point that voter registration can be a problem....

Bumper sticker I saw yesterday - McCain/MILF '08. sigh.
