I like money better than people. People can so rarely be exchanged for goods and/or services!

Now tagless for your comfort.

Hec, we used to go to Kahiki in Columbus (before they tore it down and put up a Walgreens!)

Art Crawl!!!

tommyrot - I sometimes sneeze when I go from a warm to a cold place or vice versa.

Yesterday, I got notice of a second benefits choice period for state employees. Yes, starting January 1st ALL our deductables and co-pays are going up. (My dental deductable is going up 25%.) And I'm going from having no deductable on my prescriptions to having a $50.00 and all the meds are going up.

I'm feeling broker without actually going out and having the fun of spending the money.

not your mom's socks.

I think "pisspot full of shunshine" is on its way to becoming a new Buffista phrase.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Health insurance sucks. My new prescription isn't covered at all, so it's about $160 a month.

Whatever happened to Harry and Louise? I hope they lost their health insurance. Sure, they're fictional, but they should be made to suffer....

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

There was much wailing in the tikiverse when the Kahiki came down.

Reminds me that juliana and I have a tentative date to go over to Alameda and check out Forbidden Island.

Punishingly Intricate

THAT is what I want to do when we are in Baltimore.

It is on! they don't come out until 11 so you'll have to Stay Out Late. We don't have to drink as much rum as in vegas though.

That's it. I'm moving to Baltimore.

Right?! It's fucking awesome!

I a) want a grilled cheese sandwich and b) want one of those carts!

I'm pretty sure they got the cart off of ebay. That's the neighborhood rumor anyway.

A reader writes to Sullivan:

I thought I'd pass on an anecdote about my daughter and other kids I've come into contact with during this ungodly long election cycle.

I voted for McCain in the primary. As a political reporter and columnist in Michigan, I have the news on in our house with some frequency. That's how my now 6-year-old got to know Barack Obama. And she loved him. She asked to tag along when I went to cover his events. Maybe it's the smile, the calmness. But she felt very assured by the idea of this man being president, long before I was ready to switch my vote. She was the one trying to convince her grandparents to vote Obama last winter.

And I've found that Obama has the same effect on lots of kids, whether they come from liberal or conservative homes. He is a rock star with the under 10 crowd, believe me. And I have to say, as a journalist, I found their reactions fascinating in light of both the race debate and the fact that kids tend to be carbon copies of their parents. So that Scholastic poll doesn't surprise me at all.

So the next time you see a kid with an Obama shirt, she just might have asked for it for her birthday, like mine, instead of having it foisted upon her by overbearing parents.

Huh. Weird.

You know, lately I've just been avoiding posting stuff about racist Republican ads and whatnot, but this is just so offensive: [link]

According to the election analysis site FiveThirtyEight.com, some Pennsylvanians have complained about a robocall that impersonates Barack Obama and includes racial epithets:

That's all I'm going to quote....
