Lydia: But you are a vampire. Spike: If I'm not, I'm gonna be pissed about drinking all that blood.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I dreamed I saw Joe Hill last night

I got this really great gun. No, it's really great. Wait! Anyway, it's just a .38, but, it's a gun. Even when you fail, it tells them who you are, where you stand...this one was on sale! It, no not the shoe, well, actually, the shoe was, too.

The workers said to Casey, 'Won't you help us win this strike?'
But Casey said, 'Let me alone, you'd better take a hike!'
Then someone threw a bunch of railroad ties across the track
And Casey hit the river with and awful smack

I just had a random thought - that I should take violin lessons. I've had this random thought before.

Hmmm.... where can one rent a violin, and for how much?

eta: Ooh. On eBay they have cheap "student" violins for $49....

eta²: Oh, student ones are smaller. But there are regular ones that are cheap too...

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

The Tribune's decisions then were driven by outrage at inept and corrupt business and political leaders.

Dang. That's a hell of a lot stronger than the Post's "but we still kinda like you anyway, John McCain!"

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Loved the zoo baby pictures. I think - unusually enough - that the grown-up red pandas are cuter than the babies ... at least until they have their eyes open.

That's probably for the best, as adult red pandas rival samoyed puppies in cuteness... if the babies were cuter the sight of them might kill the zookeepers that are supposed to be feeding them.

“Not dead yet!”

True dat. They kill me ded. Mooshu's breed (Eurasier) had Sammy bred into them in the sixties for temperament-- they also got the eyes.

They almost don't look real

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Red panda. What you don't see are the slightly pigeon-toed black paws and the big, fluffy, ringed tail (red and cream).

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

I also asked my bosses - one said he thinks he has a few of those books, and if he doesn't he'll give a donation.

So, Paypal or check?

tommyrot's boss is made of win.

My dad used to have a copy of Brave New World floating around someplace; I can check this weekend. And I've got a huge box of baby clothes that need to head Kat-ward anyway, so it'll be easy to toss a book in as well.
