Pretty much ready to go. Apartment still a mess. Oh well.

Cats are going nuts. Managed to turn off the modem once already, bouncing around like lunatics.

I hope to!

The weather here is supposed to go to shit just before my flight leaves. Great.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Bon voyage, sarameg!

It's worth it to look up David Letterman's reaction to John McCain cancelling on him, especially when he finds out during the taping that McCain is in fact still in NYC being interviewed by Katie Couric... and that McCain evidently lied about it to him over the phone.

I should actually try to find the entire show online, evidently his substitute guest was Keith Olbermann!

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Have fun traveling, sarameg!

ION, clips from Letterman last night: Don't Lie To Dave Letterman, McCain

eta: Sullivan:

You may get away with lying to the rest of us, but this man is powerful enough to expose you - and ridicule you. Here's another surreal moment in a campaign where pop cultural figures are standing up to raw lies and power as effectively as the MSM. More effectively, in fact:

eta²: here's a longer clip of the same thing:

Wow, I was calling Palin a smash success for firing up the base and creating a massive shift to McCain-Palin among white women based on polling that have M-P a 53% - 37% lead among white women. But now I saw this story:

White Women Swing Back From John McCain to Barack Obama

That's a massive shift back. It's hard to believe the polling with shifts this big.

However, this is unlikely, because in the US the government happens to be debt addict

Yeah, I'm not thrilled with either McCain or Obama on fiscal policy. I see the deficit growing under both.
