“Not dead yet!”

Cutiehed babies and Noah's giggle should be bottled and sold for medicinal purposes.

Oy, it's been a crap week, in a First World issues sort of way. I've been reminded yet again why eighth grade boys are the debbil (one picked on Nate yesterday just because he could, the little shitweasel) and a writing contest that I'm the chair of has had one of the categories implode because the coordinator is an idiot and another category nearly implode because the editor who was supposed to judge the final entries has completely flaked out and isn't returning emails.

Which has made writing not so much with the happening this week.

And this morning, I get to schlep two large dogs and a cranky cat to the vet for annuals. You'll have to excuse me while I go tighten the laces on my diamond-soled shoes.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

It's so much more comforting to read the debate-watch here than watch the actual debate. Me, I watched Pushing Daisies (the episode was good as last season!) and crashed into unconsciousness slightly thereafter....

information libertarian

You guys, I could COMM about half of the debate comments. We should be on a TV show watch n posting critical campaign events.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

McCain = twitchy and blinky; I think he needed some Ativan.

It really looked to me like he was high on something. I mean, probably just prescription painkillers to keep him awake, but he did NOT look healthy.

How do people handle setups with VCRs, DVRs, DVD players, and one or more game consoles? Plus straight up cable, just in case?

The back of my media stand looks like a tragic explosion at a cable factory. But basically, everything goes into the AV receiver, the AV receiver goes out to the TV and speakers, and the Harmony remote takes care of remembering what's connected to what input. (Oh, and the Tivo is patched directly into the VCR, but I can't remember the last time I actually used that part of the setup.)

Noah + Grace = BEST DEBATE ANTIDOTE EVAR!!

And reminds me that I really need to replace our video camera. Or maybe I should wait in case someone gets me one for my birthday.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

You guys, I could COMM about half of the debate comments.

You should get right on that. Remember, if you'd wanted to COMM Natter 28, you should've COMM'd four years ago.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Michael Schiavo: "Take it from me, when the government gets involved in our personal relationships bad things happen"

Probably coming down with cold. Fuzzyheaded. Did not get enough sleep last night. Wanted to call in but I have 3 meetings I can't miss and a major task to start.

Feh.

Today is World Food Day. Happy World Food Day, everyone!

To celebrate, we should all eat some food. Food is good.

World Food Day provides an occasion to once again highlight the plight of 923 million undernourished people in the world. Most of them live in rural areas where their main source of income is the agricultural sector. Global warming and the biofuel boom are now threatening to push the number of hungry even higher in the decades to come.

Oh yeah, that too....

Coding and Sleeping

Question for gamers: Is Far Cry 2 un-PC?

Do you mean is it available for consoles also, or politically correct? I think it is multi-platform and it is set in Africa. So available on the PS3, and great potential for not being PC. I don't know a whole bunch about it, since I'm not all that much into straight out shooters. I think the Half-Life 2 series will probably be my last.
