I figured it was the death knell for them when Ritchie made an announcement to the press that everything was fine a few weeks ago.
I'd like to make an announcement to the press that everything is fine between McCain and the American people....

Well, except for the polls.
I think Gud was being a wee bit sarcastic....
It is pretty easy to imagine he can get FL, OH, NC, VA, IN, WV, and MO.
No, it's really not. It's easy to imagine that he'll get at least some of them, but all of them would be a huge stretch at this point. And he'd really need all.
(Usual disclaimers, polls vs votes, no desire to tempt fate, yadda yadda)
(eta; oh, duh, sarcasm. Time to recalibrate the meter -- sorry!)
Not entirely sarcastic. Those are all winnable states, but there needs to a momentum change. Not an easy path to be sure. If Obama pulls away in any of those states (except WV), I can't see a path unless there is an amazing turnaround in PA or MI.

I totally missed it, too. I apparently need broad, vaudevillian measures in order for me to pick up on it.
Or possibly more caffeine.

Always an excellent plan. t jitterjittershake

Not that I'm a proponent of unnecessary packaging, but wouldn't you think if you have an item like say... split peas, that have the potential to go 'splodey, that rather than tightly pack them into a box, with nothing else restraining them, you might just put them in their own little bag within the box?
Or hey-- how about do away with the box and just use a bag? Especially if you have a seasoning packet buried deep within the dried split peas.
That can go 'splodey when a box is opened.

For Illinoisans, voteforjudges.org has nonpartisan info on all 70 judges who will be on the ballot.
A sign of the trouble McCain is in: a Republican consultant tested some negative ads with a focus group. They believed them, but are voting for Obama anyway.
The next was a woman, late 50s, Democrat but strongly pro-life. Loved B. and H. Clinton, loved Bush in 2000. "Well, I don't know much about this terrorist group Barack used to be in with that Weather guy but I'm sick of paying for health insurance at work and that's why I'm supporting Barack."
[Edit] Corrected crazy substituting of Obama's name for McCain's.
That is the weird up(?) side. One of my students believed some of the crazy stuff but also expressed being fed up with Republicans.
