Mal: How come you didn't turn on me, Jayne? Jayne: Money wasn't good enough. Mal: What happens when it is? Jayne: Well... that'll be an interesting day.

Also, Blessed are the cheesemakers.

Actually, it refers to purveyors of any dairy product....

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I thought of Dana while I was eating it.

Aw, thanks. I think.

The job may be paying to send me down to New Orleans in December. Fingers crossed. Maybe I can bring a muffaletta back with me.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Seriously. There is pretty much no way in hell I can have anything other than grilled cheese for dinner tonight, is there? Maybe I can find some better apples too.

One of the very tasty and expensive cheeses you can get at Cowgirl Creamery is called Pug's Leap.

Served with slices of Haas avocados, kiwi, honeydew, figs, some pancetta or salami and a good red, om nom nom nom.

vanguard of the socialist Hollywood liberal homosexualist agenda

I am clearly not a foodie, because until clicking I thought Barb was saying that Roaring Forties was a singing group.

Tom Waits' favorite bit of opera, incidentally. (As introduced to him by Francis Ford Coppola.)

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

I'm not a big fan of Maureen Dowd, but her Sunday column is pretty good--"Are We Rome? Tu Betchus!" A stab at translating the Latin part is here.

Omnes de Georgio Busio Secundo colossale goofballo.
