I said I'm sorry. I've made mistakes, but fear was never one of them.

The status is NOT quo.

Happy birthday, Matt!

Happy birthday, Cashmere!

Happy birthday, megan walker!

Happy Thanksgiving, Canadians!

Happy Sukkot to those who celebrate! (I didn't know anything about Sukkot until I worked at the Jewish high school a few years ago, and I fell in love with the holiday then.)

YAY HAPPY DAY ALL AROUND!

Allyson, I'm glad Kat was able to give you alternate directions to Pasadena. I haven't checked b.org all morning or I'd have chimed in earlier.

In meme news, one of my colleagues has had a bit of a mental breakdown (it's been weeks in the making, but we kept hoping the meds were helping), and now I'm basically teaching two more classes on top of my normal course load (her other courses are being covered by other teachers). Argh. I'm glad to help her out, but I do not have time for this right now.

Was this the young, perfectionist teacher, Kristin?

Barb, yep, that's the one. Love her to pieces, but...yeah. She's out today and will probably be out tomorrow and who knows how long after that. I was only supposed to teach periods 1, 5, and 6 today; instead, I'm teaching 1, 2, 3, 5, and 6 and making up lesson plans on the fly.

Oh, ugh. You know, I have to wonder what's going on with these young teachers. That girl who had a breakdown and went missing in NY for a couple of weeks was also a young teacher as well. Are they just not getting enough practical experience before being thrown into the mix?

Oh! Has she been found?

ION, my taco al pastor from the tortilleria in my work neighborhood is the yum! I wish I had more of them!!!

“Not dead yet!”

Yeah, Lisa, about three weeks after she disappeared:

She claimed afterward that she was suffering from "dissociative fugue."

I don't think that this is a teacher thing so much as a pre-existing condition, in my colleague's case. Either way, worrying and sad.

Well, good thoughts headed her way and teaching/patience ~ma for you, sweetie.

I just found out that there may be a grilled cheese cart in my neighborhood on Friday nights. If true = AWESOMENESS!

Seriously! I want to live in Lisa's neighborhood.

BTW, happy birthday to all of those birthdaying today.

I broke my printer at work. It won't feed paper at all. GRR. ARGH.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.
