So I skimmed the Enquirer thing. Looks like three members of the affair-guy's family swear it happened. But no smoking gun, right?
One of the family members did pass a polygraph test, which maybe means something....
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

It's the Enquirer, I'm not buying it. Yeah, they got the goods on Edwards, but that doesn't make me take them seriously.
Strega, why do you think things will be worse if the bailout does happen? (I'm not an expert on these things.)
eta: So if the bailout happens, everyone will just get into more debt?
Also? It supposedly happened over 10 years ago. As long as he wasn't on the city council of Wasilia, I really don't care.
Reid - "Thanks but no thanks":
This is a critical time for our country. While I appreciate that both candidates have signaled their willingness to help, Congress and the Administration have a process in place to reach a solution to this unprecedented financial crisis.
I understand that the candidates are putting together a joint statement at Senator Obama’s suggestion. But it would not be helpful at this time to have them come back during these negotiations and risk injecting presidential politics into this process or distract important talks about the future of our nation’s economy. If that changes, we will call upon them. We need leadership; not a campaign photo op.
And on the humorous side of things: Michael Douglas Asked About Wall Street Crisis
After world leaders here condemned the "boundless greed" of world markets, Douglas was asked to compare nuclear Armageddon with the "financial Armageddon on Wall Street."
But the likening to Gekko did not end there, with a reporter asking: "Are you saying Gordon that greed is not good?"
"I'm not saying that," Douglas replied. "And my name is not Gordon. He's a character I played 20 years ago."
Heh.
I really could care less whether or not she had an affair. I will say that it amuses me beyond reason to speculate on what our resident self-described crunchy con ed board member will possibly have to say considering he went positively nuts over the Edwards thing, and that was just a former presidential, semi possible VP candidate. He went to great lengths to tell everyone how reliable the Enquirer is.
I'm chuckling over it as I type.
Payback is a...wait, that's sexist. FTR, I don't care who she screws as long as it won't be the American people. But she does remind me of my aunt that thinks she's all that and flirts with other women's husbands.
I used to care about people's computers, about making really sure that it was done right. Now when I run into a really twisted problem, I look at the clock and think, "Well, he has to go away sometime."
According to CNN, McCain is now saying that he won't attend the debate unless a deal is struck before Friday. That's... insane? Is it possible, as the wags have suggested, that he really does believe that he's still in a Vietnamese POW camp and his life has been staged by his captors?
