I'm already wearing what my nephew dubbed my witch shoes (they are just very pointy and black and high.)

It's amazing how many IT conversations lend themselves to straight man mock-dismay or Beavis comments of "huh huh you said mount".

No kidding. Sometimes I feel like the only one in our group who realizes how wrong certain things sound and I don't want some of these people know blue I can be.

Though my all time favorite report wasn't even filthy sounding. I just got to explain we were down because "a wheel fell off." I don't get to say that very often wrt computers.

"PCI streaming byte hole error".

Sounds like the PCI bus streamed too much data into one place and it collapsed into a digital singularity (not to be confused with The Singularity) where not even assembly code can escape out.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Or maybe just the bit bucket was full....

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

any bets on hitting or beating the 777 drop from last week? The trading floor support guys are going nuts since they used to be on the floor.

any bets on hitting or beating the 777 drop from last week?

Only 66 more points to go. I can't say I'd bet against it.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

So, I wonder if the Dow will close under 9000 tomorrow.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

A lot of international markets are taking huge hits.

I think by next week all the banks in the world will be owned by mainland China.
