My underling at work is part of one of those prosperity churches.
Years ago I worked for a credit card bank. I saw a case where a church convinced a man and his wife to take out an $80,000 line of credit against their house, to withdraw the full $80,000 and give it to the church. Apparently the church told them it was illegal for banks to charge interest or something, so they didn't need to make any payments, and the church would protect them by using the legal system. And yeah, the couple lost their house.
Not quite the same as the Prosperity movement, but... still, a sucky church giving out sucky legal advice, causing people huge losses....
I thought something was up when OSU's marching band was practicing spelling "ha! ha!" in script.
Jesse, I picked up my new glasses today and I was ready to take them back within a half and hour! They were giving me a headache and I'm having a hard time finding the right place to look through. They are progressive lenses so I'm supposed to be able to see near, middle and far but I'm not entirely sure the prescription is correct. But, I'll wait a week if you will. We can be glasses buddies!
I've got progressives. It took me a while to get used to them, more than any other glasses. It's a bit of a different technique than regular trifocals, it's easier to find the right place by tilting your head. It feels odd a first, but once you get it mapped out, you'll find yourself doing it less and less.
Damn, Cash. I wish I could've helped.
I just got home from a meeting that started at 6:30.
aurelia, your day sounds like it was less than a barrel of monkeys, too.
This is my second pair. I had my old ones for about 8 years.
Monkeys would've made that meeting complete. I did get to sleep in today so I can't complain too much.
Damn, I flaked on cereal with Kat.
Kat! Tomorrow?? I could leave the house.
