Everybody dies, Tracey. Someone's carrying a bullet for you right now, doesn't even know it. The trick is to die of old age before it finds you.

Just call me "Siouxsie Shunshine".

I second what Dana said and the "bath, dinner, tv plan"

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

God, Cashmere. I'm glad that you can keep your head in this, and maybe even try to look on the bright side of this. I'm also glad you peed outside.

As a woman who likes to hike, I can understand.

(I stopped myself twice while writing this. I mean, am I really gonna tell strangers on the internet I'm glad they peed outside? But hey, Buffistas. Apparently I will say so).

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Wait, you're in Chicago?

Now tagless for your comfort.

Shir, if you can say it to anyone, you can say it to buffistas!

You guys kept me from being bored. I think my non-stress attitude helped with the tow driver and mechanic. They are probably used to folks taking out frustrations on them. I think the AAA operator even thanked me for being calm.

I also got to talk to the kids on the phone which made me smile.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Cashmere, when I first read the first post of your ordeal I thought the kids might be with you and I almost had to start crying for you. I am so glad you are in a room and not dealing with any of it anymore.

Thanks, msbelle. I'd be MUCH less laid back if I had the kids. This was a girl's getaway to meet up with my sisters and a childhood friend who is living in Switzerland but back for a short visit.

I'm bummed out that I'll miss her but it gives me reasons to start planning a European visit.

Damn. If I weren't tied up at work for the foreseeable forever, I'd grab a Zipcar and come out.

I knew you were neck deep, brenda but thanks!

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Wow, what a crappy adventures, Cash. I hope you get a restful evening, anyway.

ION, I have discovered a new farmers' market that is 75 yards from my house. Of course, it consists of all of 2 booths, but still! Locally-grown organic produce around the corner every Saturday! I hope it is successful and gets more business.

I was planning to take a big stack of books to the library to donate, but there's an Oktoberfest and the roads are blocked. Hmmm.
