What I've heard most often is "plop a squat," and always to mean "hey, grab a seat, sit down, etc."

I think it might vary by region.
I used it in this case because of the actual cop. I mostly use it as "sit". Unless I'm in a bathroom or peeing in front of police.
Cop a squat = pee outside.

I've always heard "cop a squat" as peeing outside. Regional dialects are fun!
