You never know if a girl's gonna say 'yes', or if she's gonna laugh in your face and pull out your still-beating heart and crush it into the ground with her heel.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

You know- she has a debate a week from Thursday.

Sadly, there won't be very much "free-form" back-and-forth between the candidates in this particular debate.

eta: sorta' x-posty with Barb....

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Happy birthday to Nilly and Emmett!

That is a very cute bat cake, and YES, I want something similar for my 40th birthday.

Dear American:

I need to ask you to support an urgent secret business relationship with a transfer of funds of great magnitude.

I am Ministry of the Treasury of the Republic of America. My country has had crisis that has caused the need for large transfer of funds ...

It's funny because it's true. For the exact same reason it's infinitely depressing.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

No problem!

I meant to say that Perkins-the-cat's attempt at hiding isn't too successful there. When Amarna knows she's about to stuffed into her carrier, she's gotten really good at hiding under the bed (which is wide enough that I had to take the mattresses off to get to her) and even tucking herself under the computer desk to make it really difficult to reach her there. (I've since learned to close the bedroom door before pulling the carrier out of the closet to at least cut off the hide-under-the-bed routine.)

I'm worried I might have to get her teeth cleaned again in February and will have to give her twice-a-day liquid antibiotic. I now know how to do it successfully, but she runs away from me for not only that week of medicine, but for a week or two later.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

Dude. I have a Pro account with Flickr but today they are acting like my account is a free one and that I need to upgrade to Pro! WTF? Anyone else experiencing this?

Palin's getting a bang-up start with the press

[link]

The campaign had originally indicated that the print reporters following her campaign would be among the small group of journalists allowed to attend the so-called “pool sprays” before Palin’s meetings with dignitaries on the sidelines of the U.N. meetings.

Spray. Like a cat does on the furniture?
