Hi All! I have been so absent lately. We have guests and Joe has been gone. And both kids have fevers. So, we are watching
A Bug's Life
and just hanging out. Frisco is helping me by kicking the keyboard occasionally.
Aimee, I'm so sorry for your loss.
"Girlfriends know everything. We know this."
Yep, goes for wives too.
Hi there busy Stephanie! Hope the fevers are the quick nothing to it type that kids get. Ah,
A Bug's Life.
My babies were watching
How High
earlier where a couple of stoners get perfect SAT scores and go to Harvard or some such. I was working and not watching too closely. The movie preferences change. At least they 'forced' me to watch
The Emperor's New Groove
with them a couple days ago. So, not all teen boy humor stuff all the time.

I love that movie. My students were imitating parts of the movie at school this week and at the car wash yesterday(another of those times you can really tell I teach Drama kids).
It is one of my favorites. They know they can talk me into it any time. It holds up with repeat viewing better than the Adam Sandler movies.
Libkitty, very glad about your mom's surgery going ok.
Stephanie, I hope the kids feel better soon, and you get some moments of peace.
How on earth did I manage to miss Ginger's birthday? I hope it was a happy one. Was there cake? Was it on fire? Gateau, en fuego!
Fever reduction and feel-betters to Ellie and Frisco.
Laura, everyone in this house is well over drinking age, and still, we're as likely to go, "FrancisFrancisFrancisFrancis!" when we see a ladybug as we are to say, "Shoo fly, don't bother me," with a Leary-esque delivery. Panics get "The line! I've lost the line!" And if we're lucky, we get an answering, "Now, now, this is nothing like the leaf of '96..."
A Bug's Life is right up there with The Muppets and Easy Reader in preparing one to face the vagaries of life. "From way up here you all look like tiny little ants!"
Quick~recovery~ma to you mom, libkitty. Glad everything went well.
Love
A Bug's Life!
From the Christian Science Monitor OpEd page: Canvassing for Barack Obama:
I've learned that this election is about the heart of America. It's about the young people who are losing hope and the old people who have been forgotten. It's about those who have worked all their lives and never fully realized the promise of America, but see that promise for their grandchildren in Barack Obama. The poor see a chance, when they often have few. I saw hope in the eyes and faces in those doorways.
Was there cake?
There was beer. Wells Bombardier ESB and Lagunitas Gnarleywine.
