'Not Fade Away'

Spike's Bitches 42: Which question do you want me to answer first?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

and dumber than his whole family. I just can't seem to get past that part.

Yo, sweets, book learnin' do not smarts make, k? My husband, who is ridiculously brilliant and all but dissertation in genetic epidemiology and biostatistics, manages a GameStop because it makes him happy.

He says he feels smarter now than he did during all his years of overpriced education because of the multitude of skills he has to call on to deal with a wide variety of problems and yanno, people.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

dumber than his whole family

Maybe than his whole family put together. Otherwise, that statement is so not true. You're the honor student the professors write glowing praise about. You're the story quilter and the helpful friend. You are the Bug that could.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Hey, who wants to Photoshop me into this one?

I think you have to be a redhead with blue eyes to be in that pictures.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I think you have to be a redhead with blue eyes to be in that pictures.

Aw, man. Unfair!

Our wings are not tired.

Oh, VW, I had the same feeling when I went to meet Steven's family last Winter.

And they were fantastic to me and I never felt under-educated. They're the kind of people who would feel horrified if they ever even thought they'd been dismissive of any one, in any way. I bet CBD's family are the same way.

Sorry! I don't even know if I have any pictures of the lunch at Megan's because I was too busy keeping Dylan away from Breakable Things That Are Not Ours. But there were a lot of cameras around (Javachik's made me jealous) so I'm sure somebody has proof that we were there.

I haven't posted all of my pictures from the lovely brunch yet, but these two are my favorites. This one of Dylan and veggie dip, and this one of Dylan using Jess as a junglegym.

Mostly lurking...

Oh, goodness! Those are adorable pictures!

They're the kind of people who would feel horrified if they ever even thought they'd been dismissive of any one, in any way. I bet CBD's family are the same way.

I'm sure they are. I mean, after all, they produced CBD, and he loves and gets along well with his parents. So they must be good people. I was excited about this until I started thinking too much. Must stop that. Like now.

Thanks guys. I really didn't mean to be all navel-gazy. But thank you for indulging me with all the nice remarks!

No, I don't think I will - me, quoting Captain Steve Rogers, to all of 2020

The future's so "bright", I gotta wear a miner's helmet.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

I didn't say I was dumb! I said I was dumber than his whole family! That's probably not a lie.

Also, you're NOT dumber than his family, they just have more education, which does not equal dumber.

Also: please to not be using fat as an self-insult. Fat is fat, it's neither good or bad. I think you are looking extremely lovely and healthy these days.

Nora already said what I was going to say, almost verbatim.

Having fewer academic degrees than his family does NOT make you "dumber" than them. The ways in which a person can be whip-smart are innumerable, and you're WAY fucking smart in about a jillion of them. Having a PhD from Uber-University doesn't mean shit, actually (I say this as I look askance at incompetent!boss, whose PhD hasn't stopped him from being one of the most ignorant people I have EVER encountered). t edit Ack! I'm NOT implying that CBD's family is ignorant!!! I'm just saying that *just* because someone has a higher degree than you is no reason to think you're "dumber" than they are. Maybe you know less about their field of experience, but that's about it.

Fat is nothing but a descriptor, lovely bug. You are healthy these days, after the winter of 8 jillion respiratory infections, and moreover, you're bouncingly happy, which contributes to your loveliness.

So there.

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

So both megan and Perkins let their pictures get taken? Wow.

It's not so much "let" as I am occasionally a asshole ninja paparazzi.

This. Also, sangria.

“Not dead yet!”

They've closed downtown Jacksonville because registration for American Idol auditions started at eight this morning. People started camping outside of the arena over the weekend. Auditions don't even begin until Wednesday morning.

And did I mention that it's been in the mid-90s and we're expected to have thunderstorms over the next few days?

American Idol auditions

I'm really glad I don't live anywhere near downtown or have any reason to go there.
