[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Update: When he said "crowded roadway just past the bridge" what he meant was "crowded street off the freeway, well past the bridge" -- still dangerous, but not as much as when I'd been imagining him and Emmett in the middle of a 5-lane freeway with tons of steel hurtling at them at 70-80 mph.
Emmett's at school and Hec is off on the side of the road waiting for a tow; all's not exactly right with the world, but much improved from a few minutes ago.
And, huh. How bizarre. My Firefox spellcheck doesn't like "all's." C'mon, spellcheck! It's in a Shakespeare title and everything!
Interview ~~ma, car ~~ma, and Hec rescued soon and quick, cheap fix ~~ma!!!!

OMG it is so effing hot in my office I can barely breathe. And my room doesn't have a window and we don't have control of the thermostat. I'm going to die, and possibly cry on my patients. And I have a really creepy dude coming in at 2 and there won't be anyone here but me.
Well, I'm glad Hec and Emmett are not in grave danger. Hopefully the tow will be there soon.
d, safety and sanity~ma to you.
d, I just thought of something - can you close off the vents to your office? Or get hold of building maintenance and have them do it?
Interview and Job-ma for Tom.
Nora - just keep remembering it's an early Friday for you.
First there was Bacon Salt, now there's Bacon Mayonnaise
the end of the day cannot come soon enough.
Tom has written some excellent thank you emails!
First there was Bacon Salt, now there's Bacon Mayonnaise
There's also bacon flavored vodka. Madness.
If you want bacon you should just eat bacon.
That was an unpleasant morning, but handled about as well as can be handled.
Car overheated and died right in front of Emmett's old elementary school in the East Bay -- in the middle lane of three. Heavy traffic, but not too fast, and I could raise the hood and wave people around me.
Called 911 and got a cop over pretty quick. The car cooled down and I was able to get it off to the side of the road.
Called my Geico roadside service, and got an operator who was professional, competent and solicitous (and had a nice, honeyed, Southern accent).
Called Emmett's Mom (only five minutes away) and she came to collect him and get him to school.
Geico called the tow truck company, but they also gave me the phone number as a backup. So I did a follow up call to the tow truck to give them a more detailed location and the best way to approach the car to load it.
Tow truck driver was there in half an hour. He was quick and competent, obviously knew his job.
Took me to a service station near BART where I'd had a flat fixed before. Unloaded, handed over the keys, filled out a quick form and I was on BART by 9am after a 8am breakdown.
And (I hope) it's all fixed (affordably) by the time I get back to the East Bay this evening. We'll see.
