Spike's Bitches 42: Which question do you want me to answer first?
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
I knew we could trust Hec to call. Panic attacks are no joke.
Jilli, that article made me think all the companies would have decent wines, but no. MAC was the only one with choices, and the only one with deep nail polishes--this was at Nordies, not Sephora though.
Okay, time to do my nails and try on the lipstick.
Take a look at the Besame website. They're clearing out product because they're ... changing packaging or something? So you can get 4 tubes of the same color for $20. Why yes, I now have multiple tubes of "Noir Rouge". I also have 3 tubes of "Bing" by MAC, because that's the color I wear when I want something darker and more blackberry-ish.
Thanks for reminding me I need to get another tube of "Bing".
Oh, Tep--
Oh... Tep. I'm afraid to even cyberhug you. I'm glad Hec called and got bossy on your ass.
And sweetie, please don't think of calling Tim as ruining his night. Think of it more as "I need you," and trust me, in a relationship, there's no more powerful feeling. Let him know you need him.
In the lipstick chronicles, I just bought a Chanel brush on lip color in Canalé. [link]
I like these for blending-- they're nice and rich and smooth, but not high gloss.

Sephora probably would have had more choices. I know a bunch of the Big Name companies have been putting out dark wine or berry colors, but I think they've all been limited edition specials except for MAC.
If you want the rundown on dark polishes, ask Plei. I refuse to acknowledge nail polish that isn't black. Unless it's black with red micro glitter.
Tep, can you go for a walk? Take one of the dogs and have Tim go out with you? The times I've dealt with panic attacks, being able to go for a walk has helped.
(((((Teppy))))) Panic attacks are freaky and scary. I hope that Tim is home with you. If you don't have anything you can take for one, I would seriously suggest having a glass of something alcoholic. It's not a permenant solution, but before I had anxiety meds I found that it would slow down my body enough to stop the cycle of the attack and allow reason to return.
I've never had a panic attack before, and now I've had 2 today.
I'm going to vote this is one panic attack with a lull in the middle. Seriously.
And I hope you can take some solace in the fact that Part II was brought on (in some part) by Impending Kink Bureaucracy. Because that really is sort of bad-ass.
~~~~soothing thoughts soothing thoughts~~~~
{{Teppy}} I am so sorry you are having such a tough time. I wish I could drive over and distract you. But you live in that other voting challenged swing state and are too far away!
Please let Tim know what is going on. He would want to know. Maybe he can come home for a bit and get you settled with a comfort DVD and a glass of wine or beer, and then go back to the event.
Please take care of yourself and know that this will pass. All kinds of soothing and comforting thoughts are headed your way.
