psst, vw - wineglass charms are fairly easy to make - finding those particular charms might be difficult, but making them is easy.
Spike's Bitches 42: Which question do you want me to answer first?
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
I'm a Christmas geek in that "Good will towards man" sort of way. Plus, for me, the chefs rock because they're winter, as opposed to Christmas-centric. I actually pull them out and use them from Thanksgiving on.
Now that makes sense to me - wanting a change of dishes now and then, so you aren't using the same old same old. I guess I was kind of wondering if people used Christmas dishes just the one day, or the whole month, or what. Mind you, I'm not dissing the dishes, just not quite understanding - kind of like I don't really understand people who don't love chocolate. I can accept them, love them, but never quite understand.

Yeah, I considered it, but I already have the following projects to finish before Thanksgiving:
- Cover new cushions for the couch
- Put border on tablecloths and make matching napkin rings
- Finish throw quilt for bedroom
- Make slipcover for futon
I do have limits!
I have a Lennox Christmas platter that I keep forgetting about. It's in it's box, somewhere. I don't put it in with the general dishes, so out of sight, out of mind. I need to put it somewhere more accesible, because I will use it if I see it.
My mother has Christmas dishes that come out after Thanksgiving.
vw, you definitely need those wine charms.
Fay is wise and wonderful.
The hand control people didn't call me back yesterday with an estimate and an appointment. So it looks like I get to spend another day nagging people to do what they are supposed to do.

but that it was exclusively Latino just... bugged me and I can't quite put my finger on why.
Barb, I kind of felt that too. Plus, it kind of took a while for me to figure out what was supposed to be going on. But there was a sort of... I don't know. Something. And I'm trying to think if it would have been offensive if it'd been an Italian-American family with praying or kissing a St. Anthony medal or what have you, and... yes. Yes, it would have been. So there you go.
Er, for what that's worth. Hey, I've already finished three classes' worth of grades. I needed a break!
Furnace guy said he would be here between 8:30 and 9 am. It's 9:30 now, how long before I call him?
