[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

“Not dead yet!”

Back from the urgent care. No breaks or chips, just a deep bone bruise with the attendant swelling causing the burning and numbness.

Treatment is to stay off as much as possible for the next 2-3 days, elevate it, apply heat, and take naprosyn.

Oh, and adding to the BMI/health conversation, the nurse at the urgent care cracked me up. She had me step on the scale, then took the rest of my vitals and expressed shock when my oxygen came back at 100%, my BP was ridiculously perfect, and my pulse was 68/m. She looked at me and said, in the loveliest southern drawl, "Well, darlin', outside of maybe needin' to lose a little weight, you're easily the healthiest person I've ever had walk in here."

According to the BMI index, I'm obese and need to lose thirty-five pounds. What crap. I'd look anorexic.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

I liked the Karate gal that was labeled about to die, or some such.

Was ita about to kick her in the head?

Our wings are not tired.

Hey billytea, how is the wallybee feeling?

Good to hear that nothing major is amiss, Barb. Did you get a note to show the family that you need to stay off your feet?

Hey billytea, how is the wallybee feeling?

She's doing very well, thanks for asking! Still has some nausea, but I think it's started to subside. She's pretty chuffed that so many people are wishing us well.

Our wings are not tired.

Other than being really tired and having to pee a billion times a day my pregnancies were very easy. After the first few weeks it was wonderful until the whole delivery thing. It was an incredible experience to watch my body change and feel the boys kicking away. Fascinating process the whole propagation of the species thing. Enjoy!

And speaking of the propagation of the species, sending lots of baby ~ma to GC and DW.

Go Buffista World Domination!

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Barb, I'm glad your injury isn't too serious. I hope you feel better soon.

It's a good thing I slept so late today because I'm not sleeping tonight.

Yay for Lucy being home and ok, more or less.

Yay for Barb not being injured too badly.

Opening night + champagne + margaritas... that said, um, I think the caterer was flirting with me tonight. of course, I realized that as I was walking away. Didn't ask for phone number, not that I am any good at that. Must figure out, is there a way to contact her without it being stalky. Seems romantic and stalky is a thin line.

Since this post took forever to write, and it's not that long of a post, I'm guessing I need to sleep. What? I'm not drunk.

Eh, Omnis, catering is a nice public business, so it is not like the contact information is going to be top secret. If you ask whomever organized the party the name of the caterer, you can pass it off to that person as a referral kind of thing - they don't need to know why you want to get hold of her. Then call tomorrow, ask if she wants to go out for coffee. That's not stalky.

Googling her business records until you find out her home address, going there, breaking into the place to strew rose petals, and make coffee for her using her own machine - now that would be stalky.

now ya tell me. :: sweeps up rose petals ::

The idea I had, again, this is booze tainted, was to send a note to the restaurant, maybe with a poor attempt at a poem if I could muster up the creativity. Of course, thinking about it and doing it... ya, two different things. I really hate being shy.
