I wish the antihistamine would kick in. Trying to see is giving me a headache.
Riley ,'Conversations with Dead People'
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

The Transitive Vampire! I loved it. Also I saw a grammar book at Kristin's house a while back that was utterly amusing but I can't recall the name... Kristin?
{{{{{meara}}}}} Thank you so much. I'll pass on the words of wisdom. I know she will appreciate it.

Oh, Grammar Snobs Are Great Big Meanies! Yeah, that book rocks. Plus, it's kind of naughty, which is pretty unusual in the grammar book world. Connie, you might really like it.
Ignore the nasty Amazon reviews from grammar snobs. The book was never intended for higher-level grammatical study. I think it works really well as a fun introduction and review of basic grammar and mechanics.
My eyes started filling with goo about 15 minutes ago. Allergies? Some weird eye disease? I took an antihistamine.
Must be something in the air - I woke up at 2:30 last night completely unable to see out of my gunked-up right eye. I was convinced I had pinkeye except it went away on its own by the time I got to work.
when grammar talk begins, it makes me wonder if I am a true Buffista. It is my weak point. For example, when I see:
What is the difference between transitive and intransitive anyway?I naturally think "in". Ya, English, not my strongest of subjects in school.
when I try to whine a little to my friends -- they try to tell me that Matt is going through some badshit. I know that. That's why I am whining to other people, not yelling at him.Wow. Those friends really need a whack from the clue stick! DUH! BethB, whine away. We seem to have the best listeners on the planet.
There was more, but I forgot to tab. Sorry! Hairpats all around!
TOMMY is closed. The set is 3/4ers dismantled. The sound equipment is struck. Now we clean up and load in the next show. Yipee.
Also, can I just say that P-C's explanation of transitive vs. intransitive is brilliant and is going to be stolen (with his permission) for a future lesson?
Aw, thanks. I think that's pretty much how I learned it back in the day.
I don't know if you've seen this post of mine, but I have some more creative grammar explanations. connie, you might take a look.
GG, does your school have a school counsellor with an MFCC or something similar? It occurs to me that my friend who is a high school counsellor has protocols she needs to follow if there is signs of abuse, etc. Your school district may be the same. If so, you may need to notify them about the one student's complaints (not the gayness, of course, just the complaints of abuse).
I just got home from work. I really want to go out to the hospital tonight, but the drive time is so long and my emotional resources are so low, I don't know if I can. And I have to work again tomorrow.
If I don't go tonight, I'm worried I won't get back out there again until Wednesday. I'm really emotionally effed up right now, and don't know what to do.
Plan to go on wednesday --this way you can shore yourself up,get rest and sleep.I am assuming you will get called if there are any changes. If I could think of a way to go sit with her for awhile,so you wouldn't have to think about it, i would.
