So my dad decided to give me money as a housewarming present and I'm going to get a food processer. I want a Kitchen Aid and I'm trying to decide --- 12 cup or 7 cup ?

Well lately I haven't been doing any cooking and this would be my first food processor. But I plan on doing a lot of cooking in the future. Right now it's just me so I'm mainly cooking for one or two but who knows what may happen down the road.

Well, if you get the twelve, I'd suggest maybe getting one of the teeny ones for doing smaller amounts of stuff. That's the one thing I've wished I had because there's nothing more annoying than only having to process a few garlic cloves or some herbs and getting the big one dirty.

Our 7-cup is more than enough for one, two, friends, small-to-middling parties. I think the 12-cup size is for people who like to pretend they're pros at home, and/or that scary fundie family with the 19 kids. As Barb says, if anything, I wish for a smaller one more often than a larger one.

Some of the brands have a small insert bowl, for dealing with smaller quantities. If you want to get a bigger one, maybe look for one that has that feature?

I was looking on Amazon. They have 12 cup with a 4 cup bowl included and a 7 cup with a 3 cup bowl included.
