You're wrong about River. River's not on the ship. They didn't want her here, but she couldn't make herself leave. So she melted... Melted away. They didn't know she could do that, but she did.

Spike's Bitches 42: Which question do you want me to answer first?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Just call me "Siouxsie Shunshine".

Sigh, I'm a crappy son.

No you aren't! You are a wonderful, devoted son who just happens to have a job that is demanding a lot from you right now. You will get there to see her soon and you will get your dream of spending a day where you don't have to get out of my pajamas.

I wish I was close enough to offer to help with Halloween Horror Nights. {{{{{HUGS}}}}}

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

"Safe* for work porn videos": [link]

ETA: *for values of "safe" that mean everyone there has a really good sense of humor.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

(((ND))) You are most definitely not a crappy son, but there is only so much you can do and you've been very busy with work. I'm sure if you lived closer you would find a way to see her more often.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

Safe for work porn videos

hilarious but probably not actually safe for work unless you work someplace where people have a sense of humor.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

She's still in a nursing home. I haven't had an update in a bit, so I'm not sure when she gets to come home. It's been over a month now. I've been so busy I haven't been down to see her in almost two weeks I think. Sigh, I'm a crappy son.

Really, not. The important thing is that she's safe and being cared for. You need to ensure that your life and livelihood continues too.

In somewhat related news, Tom's mother is in a nursing home- I just read her evaluation last week and things had gotten really bad. Which is hard, but a relief. I think he has a lot of those same feelings as you, Drew. I'm sorry for both of you. Take care, take it easy on yourself.

Pajama days will be yours again!

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

SF-istas - I don't know how big this story was, but last week a young man was shot and killed while riding his bike home in the Richmond District. It just came to my attention because he was the half brother of a childhood friend I just reconnected with (thank you Facebook). Our first e-mail exchanges were about a month ago and she sounded so excited, telling about how her mom had remarried and had two more kids and how well she and her brother got along with their half-siblings. My heart is so broken for her and her family.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

someone shot and killed him at 1:40 a.m. near the corner of 15th Avenue and Cabrillo Street,

Yeesh, that's a block from Matilda's daycare. Very close to Jen K.'s friend, Jenna, as well.

My heart goes out to that young man's family and friends. What a tragic thing to happen.

Drew, try not to guilt yourself - you have spent a lot of time with your mom, and then you had to spend some time concentrating on work. I do hope you get to see her soon, and I do hope you get a chance to relax a bit and set your own agenda for a time, as well.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Teppy may turn out to be a prophetess yet. (I like the old fashioned term prophetess, it seems the proper usage when dealing with that sort of thing.)

I *told* you I have prophetic dreams! (Well, again, I don't REALLY think they're prophetic when it's something that I would have predicted in my waking hours, and since you have the MAD WRITIN' SKILZ, I would definitely expect you to get the job. Now, if I had a dream that you became a tightrope walker [I don't think you've ever mentioned that as a particular life goal], and then the next day you posted out of the blue that you joined a tightrope-walkers' troupe, THEN I'd call it prophetic.

You getting this job is simply what you deserve b/c your skills are what they need.)

ION, The Boy plaintively said that this is the time of year when he craves carbs more than usual (which is to say, instead of carbs making 70% of his intake, I think he wants it to be 99%, and no 41-year-old man should be able to eat GALLONS [literally; often THREE] of ice cream A WEEK and not gain weight [though his job is all manual labor, so he burns it off like a stevedore, and he's actually *lost* weight this summer]), so I'm making zucchini bread right now, and the kitchen smells yummy. It needs to be done right now.

Almost debate time!
