'War Stories'

Spike's Bitches 42: Which question do you want me to answer first?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Just call me "Siouxsie Shunshine".

I teach in a low income district and many of my students don't own computers let alone have internet access. Shoot, some of them don't even have phones.

I face a lot of this, too.

And the 2 productions are just for this semester. Next semester will bring 2 more and one of those is a musical.

I'm totally taking Friday off for my mental health, and to help Hub get my car ready for a show this weekend.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

Much ~ma to your nephew, sj.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Dude. Seriously? 4 shows? In a year? Dude.

The 3 I do are all musicals, but it's middle school. And, as a friend reminds me 2 weeks before opening and the show sucks, I could put the kids on stage and have them do nothing but fart and their parents would be proud.

You need it. I'm taking Friday off to go to the EdTA conference. It's here (Chicago), so I can easily make it.

All kinds of surgery ~ma to your nephew and calm ~ma to you, sj.

Now tagless for your comfort.

I checked two places in town for Bust today and got bupkis. Needless to say, I should have a subscription. Must remedy that.

Loads of surgery~ma for your nephew, sj. I hope it goes smoothly and his recovery is speedy.

Teppy, I'm still appalled by your assbag employers. I'm positive they realized they fucked up.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Cashmere, do you want me to see if I can get another copy for you? I didn't have trouble finding it here.

I'll be out spending gift certificates I got for the bridal shower with Mom tomorrow. So, it's no problem.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

*Yes, spaghetti. For reference search "chili" in every Buffista thread going back to the beginning of time.

Ha!!! t loves Jess

I needed the reminder to go to B&N tomorrow and see if they have the new BUST. Hopefully I can escape without too much collateral damage to my bank account.

Teppy, I meant to tell you this in LJ, but DEFINITELY pursue any opportunities available to you in any pharma you might have near you. The money in this industry is far better than in textbooks and other traditional publishing areas. I can send you some helpful links, but I think you could increase your salary by 20-30% within a year of making the jump (if not right away).

I'm still stuck in the dilemma of What Do I Want To Be When I Grow Up? Pharm writer isn't it, I don't think. But the money would be better, and that's always good, since I need to sock away a nest egg for when I'm worn and wrinkly (well, add substantially to the wee egg-let I have already).

But Pharm writer *could* be it, since I'm good at that shit and have loads of experience. And no other Dream Job is popping up yelling "Pick me! Pick me!"

I swear, I'm walking around asking myself what job would excite me and invigorate me, make me glad to get out of bed in the morning, and....I got nothing.

So if I don't have a dream to chase, I might as well chase the money.

it's definitely not a 9-5 job in my company. Well, I take that back, my publishers do typically work a 40-45 hour work week; we just happen to be in NDA-mode right now.

I get that; crunch time is crunch time, and NDA is the Big Shit.

Shoot me an email if you want further info.

I may take you up on that -- thanks!!!
