Seriously, Sox - NOT sounding like a terrible houseguest.
Playing the TV loud in the room next to a small child - DUMB.
Assuming one is entitled to use someone else's laptop (when you are already the lucky owner of an iPhone) - RUDE.
I mean, yes, okay, you're a guest - but, honestly, hospitality doesn't mean making someone feel that they owe you a debt. It means making someone feel welcome and comfortable.
many thanks Fay. There is a big part of me that knows you are right but is trying to stay upbeat. There is also the little, won't shut up part that has me looking back over the week for things I might have done to add to the tension. Aside from making three new firefly / wonderfalls fans during the rainy interlude. .
Distract me with tales of Thailand. Pretty please.
Er...okay, well, the rainy season? RAINY! I mean, VERY VERY VERY rainy! Meanwhile I've just seen my rehearsal schedule for
Deathtrap
and my jaw pretty much hit the floor - I mean, we're talking 3 or 4 hours a night, at least 4 nights every week from now to performance, which is fairly hardcore, I think. (And some days at weekends it's down for 12 - 9pm.) So - yay for being in a play, but, GOSH.
My kids are adorable like an adorable thing from the planet adorable. I keep coming in to find that they've covered my board with 'We love Miss Fay! Miss Fay is the best teacher in the world!' etc etc, and hearts and flowers and cute pictures of me looking much thinner than I actually am. So that's GREAT. This afternoon we had Golden Time, and then our library/ICT lesson hit the snag of all the computers being mysteriously buggered, so after they changed their books we came back and learned a neaw song. As it was quite a bouncy, jaunty number, this involved a lot of Miss Fay doing rather OTT dance routines, and encouraging the kids to jump up and join in. Ahem. And then there was a quick chapter of
James and the Giant Peach
before home time.
I like my job.
However, on Monday my new headmistress will come observe me, which may be a bit scary. Gulp. Since me and organisation...yeah. Not so much with the mixing.

So much this. This whole thing sounds way too tense and not nearly enough relaxing.

Thirding this. Completely.

Fourthing. And fifthing, just because. You shouldn't have to come back from vacation more exhausted than when you left and it sounds like that's what you're headed for.
Ok. Hivemind help!
I've been planning on doing a "Talk Like a Pirate Day" party with the kids today. What would be some good kiddo age approved Pirate snacks (or something we could cook)? I'm so drawing a blank.
Goldfish, because of the pirate ships being in the sea with the fish and stuff. Hey, it's early.
Well, that's better than I'm doing. All I can come up with is liquor and stale bread. The first won't go over well with, well, anyone. The second the kids probably wouldn't enjoy. They'd think it was the dumbest party ever.
Oh, they have those chocolate gold coin things. Treasure is good.
