Mal: Well, you were right about this being a bad idea. Zoe: Thanks for sayin', sir.

Spike's Bitches 42: Which question do you want me to answer first?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Matilda adores hummus, although she tends to forget that she adores it if she goes a few days without, and then we have to reintroduce it with lots of ridiculous "Mmm! Yum! Oh so good!" cues before she'll try it again, and then she eats half the tub. It's one of the very few things that she ever does that upset Emmett. After she's been eating it he thinks she smells like feet and wants her to go away until the smell fades.

Speaking of Emmett, I'm contemplating getting him this shirt for his birthday. Just waiting for Hec's input before pulling the trigger.

Happy Birthday, Erika!

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Dylan loves hummus like I love coffee - it's also how I make him eat vegetables, because roasted red pepper hummus is Teh Yum.

DH took him to work after the dr appt today and I beat them home. Being alone in my own home is such a rare thing these days I don't quite know what to do with myself. (I have already been Little Miss Domesticcakes and freezer-bagged all but one of the bulk chicken breasts I bought yesterday and put a pot roast in the oven.)

I look more rad than Lutheranism

We can haz power! It came back on around 3:30 a.m. overnight. And the thing is, The Boy works about 1 mile from our house, and THEY got power at 2 p.m. yesterday. So when he told me that yesterday afternoon, I was SURE we'd have power at the house.

When I walked in at 5:30 and there was no power, I almost cried. But we rallied, and went out to dinner with friends, and came home to a pitch-black house. I told The Boy that I know we're lucky; the house and cars didn't get damaged, and the weather is perfect -- cool, low humidty -- for having the windows open (i.e., no need for a/c). But despite all that, the overwhelming DARK, even with tons of candles, was really REALLY putting me in a depressive state, and I just needed to have electric light again.

He went to bed when I did last night (he's a night owl, and I go to bed at 11:30 or so, while he stays up until 1 or 2, so it's unusual that he goes to bed the same time I do [unless there's ::ahem:: good reason for him to do so ::ahem::]), I think to comfort me.

So he snuggled me, and told me we'd have light soon, and it would be okay. Then he asked me, "Are you afraid of the dark?"

Me: "Yes. But not with you."

Him: "I'm afraid of the dark, too."

Me: "I'll protect you."

Him: "Protect, nothing; I'm throwing you to the wolves!"

Me: "I love you for your craven cowardice."

Anyway, I got up to pee at 6 a.m., and I realized I could see the dining room light on!!! I stood in the hallway and jumped up and down and clapped my hands loudly enough to wake the dogs and The Boy.

POWER!!!!!

And then after work I spent ~$80 on *just* the staples at the grocery store; we still need to fill in the cracks with the rest of our standard fare.

But we're having a pizza we cooked in our own oven, and salad with dressing that didn't sit in a warm fridge for 4 days, so it's all good.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Yay for Power Innage!

Our wings are not tired.

I like the shirt, JZ.

Yay for power! I felt so bad for all of the powerless people. We expect to lose power to hurricanes on a regular basis, but it doesn't seem at all right for people in Ohio and such places to have hurricane issues.

I have pretty nails. I finally made the time to visit my SIL's salon. I had picked up a perfect thing for her in a consignment shop and used it as an excuse to escape work for a little while and get girly. Now I need to swing by a grocery store to get something not unhealthy to eat and then go back to the office. I'm grateful for having so much to do, but the days are long. Good to take a me break.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Yay for Power Innage!

Indeed! YOU HAVE THE POWER!!!

Also? Like Fay's phrase.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Yay, power!

Dinner did get served, despite my incredibly long nap this afternoon. I forgot to make the green beans, and I bought cheesecake rather than making brownies. I did make everything else I said I was going to make, with TCG's much appreciated help. The food was very good and we had fun, but I'm still feeling like a flake and a failure. I hate I that I can't have the energy to get the simplest of things done on a regular basis. t /meme
