Spike's Bitches 42: Which question do you want me to answer first?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Our wings are not tired.

I like the shirt, JZ.

Yay for power! I felt so bad for all of the powerless people. We expect to lose power to hurricanes on a regular basis, but it doesn't seem at all right for people in Ohio and such places to have hurricane issues.

I have pretty nails. I finally made the time to visit my SIL's salon. I had picked up a perfect thing for her in a consignment shop and used it as an excuse to escape work for a little while and get girly. Now I need to swing by a grocery store to get something not unhealthy to eat and then go back to the office. I'm grateful for having so much to do, but the days are long. Good to take a me break.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Yay for Power Innage!

Indeed! YOU HAVE THE POWER!!!

Also? Like Fay's phrase.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Yay, power!

Dinner did get served, despite my incredibly long nap this afternoon. I forgot to make the green beans, and I bought cheesecake rather than making brownies. I did make everything else I said I was going to make, with TCG's much appreciated help. The food was very good and we had fun, but I'm still feeling like a flake and a failure. I hate I that I can't have the energy to get the simplest of things done on a regular basis. t /meme

My dear sj,

I left 2 things on the coffee table before departing for my wedding. My earrings and the CDs with the music. And yet the marriage has survived. Forgetfulness /= failure.

Much love, Laura

What Laura said, sj. Didn't you cook a bunch of other food? Seems to me, you succeeded. Plus, you did have a dessert and didn't make your guests do without! Cheesecake! You can send me some as I have neither brownies or cheesecake.

I know that it wasn't a total disaster. It was just the making them wait for the food that bothered me, and I was flustered when they walked through the door rather than pulled together and in control.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

I'm sure they were charmed that you cared so much, sj, rather than being all perfect and blase (just imagine that accent mark there) about it.

There should always be some time before dinner to chat and relax

Finger food can always fill in if the wait is more than you feel comfortable with. I try to keep olives, cheese and crackers on hand for that reason.
