half-assed meara, about the only kind i do these days...
Then he reminded me about all the times I've handed over keys to buffistas without being clear on RL names.

Hee! ::waves back::
I'm wondering if there's something I could do this year that might appeal specifically to the, er, "alternative" kids. That is, both the goth kids and the not-quite-goth-but-similarly-disengaged (from mainstream high school culture, anyway).
Emily, there are some books out there that might be helpful, like Sew Subversive and Generation T. Everyone's got T-shirts to mod, and a trip to a thrift store would provide cheapos for those who don't. Many of the Generation T mods are low- or no-sew.
Of course, I'm also a descriptivist rebel who merrily splits infinitives and ends sentences with prepositions and spits in the face of the Latinate rules shoved willy-nilly onto a Germanic language by stick in the mud twerps with some sort of mental hard-on for a dead tongue.
God, Plei, that's one of the sexiest things I've ever read.
Other than that, I don't have much. Woirk, feh. Waiting for 5 so I can go hear some music and socialize. First time KBD gets to meet any of my friends, should be interesting.
Taking a long nap was not on the to do list for today, but my body somehow made it a priority. Too much left to do and no time to do it.
I have to run to a meeting and then class, but suggestions for Jessica from another mom of an underweight kiddo: hummus and refried beans. Franny could eat them all day.
Franny could eat them all day.
Me too! I just had like 1/2 a container of hummus.
Maybe I'm secretly a toddler?!
Hummus is great! My wife and kids won't eat it though, crazy.
If I had seen hummus before I decided I liked it, I wouldn't have eaten it.
I'm neurotic about color and texture.
Serve it in the dark?
Matilda adores hummus, although she tends to forget that she adores it if she goes a few days without, and then we have to reintroduce it with lots of ridiculous "Mmm! Yum! Oh so good!" cues before she'll try it again, and then she eats half the tub. It's one of the very few things that she ever does that upset Emmett. After she's been eating it he thinks she smells like feet and wants her to go away until the smell fades.
Speaking of Emmett, I'm contemplating getting him this shirt for his birthday. Just waiting for Hec's input before pulling the trigger.
happy birthday erika!
Worked the beach thing out. Stayed. Thanks muchly to buffista wisdom taking over when tired mommy brain shorted out.
Dylan loves hummus like I love coffee - it's also how I make him eat vegetables, because roasted red pepper hummus is Teh Yum.
DH took him to work after the dr appt today and I beat them home. Being alone in my own home is such a rare thing these days I don't quite know what to do with myself. (I have already been Little Miss Domesticcakes and freezer-bagged all but one of the bulk chicken breasts I bought yesterday and put a pot roast in the oven.)
