[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

whoo hoo, back from lunch. it's a beautiful day out there, which makes me happy. I have decided that the Clam Box's clam chowder is on my Top Five all time things to eat out.

My list, as of today:
1. Clam Box clam chowder
2. Anna's Tacqueria carnitas burrito
3. Smoked turkey dinner at Redbones
4. mac & cheese (with andouille and spinach) from The Publick House
5. garlic shrimp at Dali

The list is of course ever changing but that's what I'm thinking today.

Also, marital shenanginans accomplished OMG. Honestly, I don't think I take enough advantage of the nookie on tap situation that married with no kids provides.

Am now drinking strawberry lemonade and wondering when I should crack open my birthday bottle of Bear Republic Hop Rod Rye.

ETA Links to places I mentioned.

“Not dead yet!”

Oh, feel better, Omnis.

Am jealous of Nora's clam chowder. I've been craving soups and stews and wanting to make them, but dang it, it's TOO FREAKIN' HOT.

The minute we dip below 70 in the evenings, I'ma gonna go get me a ham bone and make some split pea soup.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Happy birthday, Nora!

Stephanie, when I was out in DC this past April, I noticed that the Metro lines ran well out into the 'burbs in all directions, so you might want to look at how close some of those lines come to where you're considering living.

My BIL's daughter came to live with them this month, and she told me that her classes start at 7:00 am and go to 1:30 pm; she has to be at the bus stop by 6:30 am.

I would be all suggesting stuff for you, Stephanie, if it weren't for not knowing anything about where is good for kids and schools and stuff. Um.

Trust my rage

Too much food for thought there Stephanie.

No worries - I just felt bad for posting something so not-interesting. Posting is a fine line - interesting to me but not to dull to the rest of the world. Anyway, I'm sure someone will eventually come along with good info for me.

In Me news... cold is growing.

Oh no! It's way too nice outside here to have a cold!

In MD, at least, most of the Metro stops are not convenient to residential areas. (Technically, I could walk to either Friendship Heights or Bethesda on the red line growing up, but it would have been over a mile in either direction.)

My in-laws are currently living in Pengaton City, and they like it quite a bit. They do have a car, but they can also walk to a ton of stuff right in their neighborhood.

No, not boring at all, Stephanie!!

You're going to rent, right? You might want to start just looking at Craigslist seeing what's available at that pricepoint. I mean, if the only three bedroom apartments/houses that are coming up are in Anacostia and Frederick, well...you'll know that either you'd need to add to the housing allowance, or give in and live in Frederick. Or consider making Ellie and Frisco share a bedroom. :)

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

We have friends who are building a house in Fredricksburg but that looks really far away to me.

yes, it is. Would easily be a 1.5-2 hour commute.

Joe's job is not for sure yet but it will likely be either in the Pentagon or maybe at Ft. McNair.

Pentagon's technically in VA, you could look in Arlington or Alexandria easily.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Also, marital shenanginans accomplished OMG.

The DH, who was off covering a Jeep thing in Telluride, got up at 2:00 am on Sunday to take the little plane to the big plane to home and then almost immediately had to start getting ready for the wedding we went to in the afternoon. I must say it is a true pleasure to have an exhausted husband make with the shenanigans, and say he just had to because "You looked so beautiful at the wedding."
