[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I'm here, Gar. Thanks for asking.

S is more or less the same -- still on the ventilator, still having difficulty keeping her blood pressure up, and her fever keeps hovering around 99 to 100.

The good news is that the edema in her lungs has gone down considerably, and none of her cultures have produced any evidence of infection, so she may not be sceptic after all (it seems that there's still plenty of guessing going on).

She's been making tiny incremental steps of improvement every day. Now that it's four days out, and there's a bigger big picture to look at, she's definitely improving. The difference between now and four days ago is remarkable.

That being said, she's still not out of the woods by any stretch. Hopefully they'll actually be able to take her off the ventilator soon, as there's always a concern that the longer a person is on a ventilator, the harder it is to take them off of it.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Fay, there's a new documentary out on Wizard Rock.

Wizard Rockumentary.

A Wizard Rock band camp would be kind of fun.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

That's encouraging news, Sean. What's your situation with your landlord?

Mostly lurking...

Oh, Sean, it's good to see you here.

Oh, ugh. It just started thundering. Toto is going to be an unhappy boy when I leave for work. I did give him his puppy Xanax, and he's dealing, but he's going to be unhappy when I leave...especially when the meds wear off. Poor pooch. I just feel so terrible when he gets like this.

Some of S's friends gathered some money to pay our rent and hopefully get the phone turned back on. It should be arriving today or tomorrow. I've informed the landlord that this will be occurring, and he can expect it by tomorrow afternoon. I have not heard back from him, so it's not entirely clear that he's okay with that, but whatever.

We'll also hopefully be speaking with a social worker today. It's been a very busy couple of days for me.

SJ, I forgot to say re: GPS. Becareful. As my friend said when her hubby first got one, "It will take you where you wanna go, just not the way you would have thought of". Also, be aware, that the GPS isn't always as up to date as one would like. And has been known to put you going down the wrong way on a street recently converted to One Way. Or think a right turn is a merge and not list it, or think a merge is a turn and list it, both of which give frustrating reactions of "I'm not wanting to be here" and "what turn? Where?". So think of them as really interesting ole New Englander directions. That said, very helpful for me in new city. OMG love it! Oh ya, and the model I have, a Magellan, seems to prefer to take me around the block to make a right turn, rather than making a left turn. Makes me wonder if it's AI was commissioned by FedEx.

It's been a very busy couple of days for me.

Geez, I'd say so. Glad to hear things seem to be looking up.

The status is NOT quo.

Sean, it's good to here that there's at least a little good news, even if it's not (by a long stretch) all better. Did you ever have the conversation with S's mom about how this is going to go forward? I know it's difficult to shift this burden of responsibility, but I also know how much you need a break from this and how much you need to start moving forward.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

What the Pixie said. I know it's not going to be easy, but you HAVE to get S's mom to take the reins here before you burn out completely.
