When we landed here you said you needed a few days to get space worthy again and is there somethin' wrong with your bunk?

Spike's Bitches 42: Which question do you want me to answer first?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Damn your hides! Now I want fried chicken. Fortunately I have pulled pork packed for lunch.

Sigh. There's a guardianship hearing for Tom's mum in Scotland the first week of November and i am trying to figure out if we can afford for me to go or not. I am sort of leaning toward yes, because he'd have to spend the same $$ on hotel and rental car with or without me and I found a fare for under $800 (total, inc. taxes) on Aer Lingus. I don't like the thought of him dealing with this alone. I think it would come to an extra $1000 if I went, all told. Is $1K worth it for my presence there? I don't know. There are so many question marks about this what with Tom being out of work and all.

I am refraining from discussing this with him till after he gets back from a job interview he has at noon. Apparently, this interview will put him "through the wringer" according to the recruiter who arranged it. It would be great if he got through it and felt good about it, regardless of the outcome. So if anyone thinks of it, job~ma for Tom at noon EST would be most appreciated.

{{Nora}}

Nora, I wrote a long post that the board ate, and I've got to run to a meeting, so I'm boiling this down to a sound bite:

If you think you have a choice, I think you should take care of Tom, not the pocketbook (based on my shallow knowledge of your money management, I don't think 1K is going to make/break the bank).

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Job and mom~ma for Tom and you, Nora.

I just had fortified hot cocoa (a concoction that contains coconut oil, dark chocolate, vanilla and potassium) and a Zestar apple dipped in peanut butter for breakfast.

yeah, I'm leaning this way as well. We just paid of the credit card with Tom's severance, so we have some flexibility there at least.

Punishingly Intricate

Fried chicken is my default food craving. I may crave other foods at other times but I'm ALWAYS craving fried chicken.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Fay, those recipes look woooonderful. Thanks.

Now that I'm off the sugar I'm getting of the rest of the cheap white carbs. I'm down to one a day. I will miss my roll with butter for breakfast.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

SO I had my first PoliSci class today (7:30am - ugh) and it's taught by a former Congresswoman. Lynn Rivers (D) of the Michigan 13th. Total rock.

Well fuckity. I've told y'all about my old assistant, L and her cancer woes (and it is back - she is going to try a different treatment for her third attempt at kicking this). Now J, the gal who took my old job, is off to the oncologist cause they are concerned about something in her blood. They have run a ton of tests and today she is meeting with the doc to see if they have a diagnosis. Some health~ma her way would be appreciated.

This sucks elephant balls.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Much job, travel, and family~ma to you and Tom, Nora.

I hope your friend J gets good news from her oncologist's tests, SuziQ.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Health-ma to Suzi's co-workers, all good thoughts.

Fay, drooled, copied, and saved.

Nora, go if at all possible. I agree with your instincts on this one.
