[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

“Not dead yet!”

At least the reservoirs in Georgia and the Southeast will get refilled. And the Everglades should be full.

They're actually talking about draining Lake Okeechobee some, which completely blows my mind.

Thrive to spite them

Erin I'm sorry your job was so toxic but I'm glad you got out of it.

I'm all for medication to deal with depresion and anxiety.

I'm back from seeing Evan. I miss him already. I took 168 pictures, and soon most of them will be on my flickr page. Although there were some bad pictures and one where Evan looked....really weird.

Last night he slept 7 1/2 hours straight! He's just over 2 weeks old! He's amazing. And wonderful and cute, despite his freaky long thumbs.

Our wings are not tired

I'm at work in a darkened theatre. I'm also trying to get a lawyer and a financial adviser to actually schedule things in a timely fashion. Joy.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

My pharmacy doesn't carry the 4 mg folic acid that I am supposed to take in case I get pregnant. So, I have to take 4 1 mg tablets. At least they're small. I figured I should start them now just in case.

Just call me "Siouxsie Shunshine".

FIVE TEACHERS!!!??

That should cluestick the Admin, shouldn't it?

You would think, huh. My school lost 20 teachers at the end of last year (which is about normal, now). Of the new county hires, we had one third of the list. For at least the last 3-5 years my school has had the most hires in the district.

Does the county level administrateion get a cluestick? nope.

Erin, I'm so sorry your school was as bad a situation as it was. I, too, am glad you got out. Working in a toxic environment can be such a dangerous thing. Much job ~ma for you.

Pix, I'm sorry you are having trouble with some of your kids. I hope today was just a "passing mood" for them and they realize what an amazing teacher they have as well as all the opportunities they will have in your class.

IOmemeN: Today my English 3 students had time to work on note taking skills (required by the curriculum). They had to ready 12 pages of intro stuff and take notes they will use to take a quiz. They complained for the entire 40 minutes they had to work and did everything but the work assigned. I'm sure they won't do it as homework, either.

It was a real craptastic day. Before 5:30 this morning, the bowl I was making breakfast in broke and my computer died. Six months ago this same computer had the logic board go bad and now it is acting exactly the same. Right now it's a wonderful doorstop. I'm probably going to have a take a personal day to take it to a Mac store in Tampa. On the up side, the mall the Mac store is at is amazing.

I think I'm going to lose myself in a book for the night. There is a faculty meeting at 7am tomorrow...ugh. DD at that time of the morning is never good.

Punishingly Intricate

I'm back from seeing Evan. I miss him already.

Me too!! My 8-month old nephew is also an Evan! And, boy howdy, is he a jolly little bundle of cute.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

{{{Erin}}} All kinds of job~ma to you.

{{{Scrappy}}} I hope the eval doesn't go as badly as you think.

My school lost 20 teachers at the end of last year

Holy smokes. How many teachers does your school have? We lost 2 at the end of last year. We have 44 teachers on staff.

I'm still at school. I'm done with work, but it's raining like Gustav made his way up here and I'm trying to wait it out till I run out to my car.
