Spike's Bitches 42: Which question do you want me to answer first?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Now tagless for your comfort.

sj, I was 181 when I got pregnant with Owen and the doc wanted to keep my weight down because of the GD. With the diet he put me on I gained 9lbs. Dieting when pregnant is as much fun as dieting non-pregnant.

(((Erin))) I'm sure you made the right decision if it was that stressful.

O's bus was 15 minutes late so I said screw it and took him to school myself.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Cashmere, 9 lbs for your whole pregnancy?

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

ION, is anyone using a Nuva ring? What's your experience been? I've been out of the birth control biz for so long I haven't kept up with what's available. My doctor wants me to try it out for 3 months and report back.

Yes, I love it. I've been on it for several years and it's just super.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I'm not really stress eating the refined sugars all that much. More the potato, bread, and cheese food groups. Mac and cheese, cheese pizza, various cheese-based spreads on crackers. Yummy, if not nutritionally complete. And great with wine. Oh, hey, that's fruit, isn't it?

Hee.

It actually stops ALL my compulsive eating, not just sweets. I think the lack of blood sugar bounce has a lot to do with how I respond to stress.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I used the Nuva ring before I was pregnant, and preferred it infinitely to the pill. Easier to remember to use & much lower side effects.

[edited to clarify that I did not get pregnant while ON Nuva ring. It was just the last BC I was on before going off it entirely to get pregnant.]

Yeah, this is why my doc recommended it. I had a terrible time on the pill (worst side effect? lowered sex drive) last time I was on it which was ...many years ago.

That will definitely increase your sex drive.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

I should add that Ativan has been helpful for me; I know other Buffistas have taken it, and I think it's been helpful for them, too.

Ativan probably saved my life when I was going through the divorce. It was a godsend for me. (Valium was also nice, but the Ativan was much more useful, since I needed to be fully-functional more often than not.)

Huh. I should look into the Nuva ring.
