'Conversations with Dead People'

Spike's Bitches 42: Which question do you want me to answer first?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Just call me "Siouxsie Shunshine".

You know, I quite like teaching stuff. I'm not so big on the supervising and scolding thing. That gets old.

Yep. This. Is. Me.

(((((Erin))))) Hon, I am so sorry you had to suffer one of "those" kinds of students. I'm sorry that you have had such a dismal day, too. Take tonight to do something totally for you...drink, eat chocolate, read trashy books, watch a movie, whatever. Hair pats for you. It's wonderful your administration is supportive, that helps so much in horrid situations like you experienced today.

{{{{{Kristin}}}}} I hope you have spent the day totally drugged up and will start feeling better soon.

2008 better back off. Be warned, I have a voodoo doll with your name on it and I'm not afraid to use big, pointy, sharp pins. This year has overused its privileges and is now in a timeout until the end of December.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Oh, Erin, that really sucks. I hope the rest of the days (all of them, forever) go better.

Speaking of Del Martin (and I'm so sorry to hear about her loss, and so damn glad she had the last few months before she went), and also in light of our recent conversations about Barack and the marriage question, apparently Michelle Obama showed up at the GLBT delegates luncheon in Denver and had some good things to say. Brief description and video here: [link]

Argh. A friend of mine does a cleaning business on the side. I'd arranged for her to come over today and clean my house (which desperately needs it) and figured/known that as a side thing, that would motivate me to do shit like laundry and motivate me put things away and organize and so on and so forth. For my birthday preset to me, partly, too! Figured my parents' birthday check would cover it.

And I knew that having a clean, organized house would make me feel happier and more motivated in general. Which I've been needing.

But she apparently called earlier (I didn't notice the voicemail) and just called a few minutes ago (and was like "Uh...did you get my message?") when she was supposed to be here, because she's sick. Dang. No clean house, no motivator.

And managing to go to the bank and the store earlier (to get laundry quarters, and some cleaning supplies) just made me exhausted, so I was really hoping her showing up would give me a burst of energy. She's fun. Plus, paying her means we stay on task. Gaaaaaah.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Ok, at some point in the near future, we need to find a tree surgeon, or something like that. Enormous grandmother elm tree in the back yard has one huge widowmaker. That's what Daniel calls a dead branch waiting to drop off onto someone's head. Also there are power lines very near it. Yellowpages.com gives me no love under the key words "tree surgeon" and I can't think what else to look up. Any hints?

Our wings are not tired.

We call them widowmakers too. Maybe the power company would cut out the branch. They sometimes do that here.

Erin, I hope the events of the day made an impression on the remaining students. May it get easier, sweety.

Possibly call a local greenhouse to find out who's around?

The status is NOT quo.

GC, Momo is adorable, and she looks SO MUCH like our Seamus! Also, I don't think there's a thing wrong with changing your minds about the MiL's ticket. If I were DW's mom, I'd be thrilled by the offer of $350 towards my ticket as a Chirstmas gift. You two are the only ones who will feel badly about not being able to pay it all, and that's just silly. She'll never know that was even an option, you generous soul, you.

Ginger, ick on the mosquitoes. Man, I miss a lot about the east, but not those. Also, you and Calli and Barb and anyone else in the path of storms/tornadoes--stay safe!

Oh, Erin, honey, I'm so sorry. That just sucks. It's so hard starting at a new school and having to run the asshole-student gauntlet. Hang in there. You'll have them wrapped around your finger in no time. In the meantime, just remind them that you're one of those teachers who truly cares about her students and is pretty damned cool to boot. Torturing you is only shooting themselves in the foot. They'll figure it out sooner or later. {{{{{Erin}}}}}

meara, sorry your friend couldn't make it. I completely know what you mean about needing someone else around to motivate you to get stuff done.

I'm sad to hear about Del Martin. And Brenda, I'm also hopeful about Michelle Obama's appearance at the GLBT luncheon.

Kristin, are you feeling any better? Are you doped to the gills?

Thanks for asking, Hec. I'm feeling better because of the massive amounts of Vicoden and ibuprofen in my system at the moment, but it's beginning to wear off. I need to take some more Vicoden shortly. Oddly, I don't feel doped up in the least. The pain has been so intense that all the morphine overnight and Vidoden now has done is take the edge off.

Why are girly parts so freaking annoying?

A question for the ages. Seeing my ovaries choked with cysts in the ultrasounds again made me want to cry. It was bad enough when they were just a sign of my infertility in years past, but now they actually scare me. I really don't want to go through this again.
