Spike's Bitches 42: Which question do you want me to answer first?
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Oh, my. So the exam I just took? Three of the four questions WERE NOT COVERED IN THE MATERIAL. Thank goodness for my wicked fast dictionary-combined-with-context skills.
I'm going to pee and then take the final. We have three hours. I *really* hope it doesn't take that long. Then, if I have any energy left, I'll try to go back and finish the very few things I decided to skip in order to make sure the tests got taken.
Regular PD starts tomorrow, so I'm not sure how much time I'm really going to have before the students arrive for orientation next Thursday.
You're going to be fabulous, as always.
And go on that final, vw! Go!
Oh, good. She updated grades a bit. The test I thought I did poorly on, I really did poorly on. Ugh. I'm hoping she's generous on the test I just finished.
I need a 60 to pass the class. I'm currently at a 44 with a few things still ungraded (the grades are calculated strangely, so I don't totally understand it). And I'd really like higher than a 60. But at this point, I'll take the damn 60. It would REALLY suck to have killed myself over the last couple of days and then not pass.
Oh, and Barb, you were right earlier with that sentence. I totally did not get that bit of grammar. But, I understand it better now, and she only took off .05 of a point (it was worth .50).
Today DD pulled me aside to "talk privately"
I just threw up in my mouth a little bit. Demented Douchnozzle should really run off with our governor and bask in the glow of fake tan together. Sounds like they not only resemble each other physically, but have the same grasp on reality when it comes to sound educational philosophy. Not enough ugh in the world.
Go Bug Go!
We only had a couple feeder bands today that didn't amount to too much. Certainly not the 12" we got earlier. Both yesterday and today we have had spectacular sunsets. Wandering outside now with glass in hand to do my bit of sunset worship.

I have total faith in you, Pix. Like Barb said, you are going to be fabulous.
Yea! vw, you are almost done!
And, Barb, I think I forgot to add this before. I hope things with the teacher end up being better than you fear. A good gifted teacher makes such a huge difference.

Laura makes me very happy right now.
Laura makes me very happy right now.
Ditto.
And thanks, GG. I try really hard to ride that fine line between hands off and knowing when to butt in. It's hard when I have that Ed degree with the (admittedly out of date) gifted certification sitting in a drawer.
I just want to spare Abby the same crap I got as a student, as much as possible, without coddling her.
Barb, it sounds like you are being a good mom. Your degree makes you more aware of the needs of students from an education standpoint. If you sense something isn't right with this teacher, you are probably on to something. I'm sure you'll be alert to anything Abby is going through.
Stunning night out there, but the skeeters were eating me alive. I took a couple shots with my cellphone, but they likely won't be right. It's a multi-layered sky. The low level clouds are black and racing across the sky while the upper level streaks are stationary and tinted with aqua and orange like they are Dolphin fans. To the south lighting and rain. If it wasn't in the 80s both for temp and humidity and the bugs weren't so hungry I could actually sit outside for a while. The light show is finished now anyway.
ION, my baby is 14 tomorrow. It is also the 20th anniversary of DH and I starting our business. This is the first time that I noticed that both events were Aug 22nd. I celebrate Bobby every year, but this is the first time that I thought about the actual day one of the business. (maybe it occurred to me on the 10th year thing, but if so I forgot)
