Tracy: Well-- That call -- That call means you just murdered me. Mal: No, son. You murdered yourself. I just carried the bullet a while.

Spike's Bitches 42: Which question do you want me to answer first?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Just call me "Siouxsie Shunshine".

Now wouldn't that just be a crying shame.

Oh, so sad. It might take me minutes to get over the loss.

I'm glad your class sizes and arrangements are becoming more sane.

Thanks. My largest class is now 28, one of the English classes.

Mostly lurking...

The alternative seems to be having him back in his apartment and wondering if he wasn't answering the phone because he's in the bathroom or because he's lying on the floor.

Yes. That is not a good alternative.

We're all getting played with, babe. -Weird Barbie

Honey, whine away. You've had an unbelievably stressful and draining summer. You have handled everything with strength, patience, and compassion. Feeling exhausted and sick of living out of a suitcase is more than understandable. Hell, I'm sick of it, and I've been home at least a week more than you this summer. Just try to get some rest each night, and I will do what I can to help. Also, vw rocks for finding those numbers. Love ya, babe!

Sean, I'm very glad to hear that a new living arrangement is on the horizon for you. I know the next couple of weeks aren't going to be fun, but there is a light at the end of this tunnel. Hang in there.

Calli, so much -ma for your dad.

Suzi, congrats on the new job responsibilties!

Speaking of, I had a phenomenal first day as New Faculty Coordinator! Everything went really well, and I got tons of praise from the new folks and my administation. Karen ended up being in meetings almost all day, and when she found me at the end of the day she gave me a huge hug and said she was so proud of me that she could cry. Two cool moments: when Karen had the assistant print out my new nametag, it read "New Faculty Coordinator." No mention of being a co-leader. I may not be getting a stipend this year, but the title is mine and mine alone. Whee! Second, at the beginning of the morning when we were all introducing ourselves, the new head of school was there. After I had introduced myself and turned to her for her intro and welcome, she prefaced her comments by saying, "Kristin was too modest to say this, but I want you all to know that she is a Nationally Board Certified Teacher. If you are at all familiar with this program, you know that you are in the hands of a master teacher." Holy crap! I have fought so long to even get indepndent schools to give a shit or have a clue about NBPTS that it nearly brought me to tears. For the first time in my career, I feel really, truly valued by my administration. I am so happy right now! HoS pulled me aside later to tell me that she's very interested in getting some more people at the school involved in NBPTS and would like my help doing so, too. Double whee! Sorry for the meme, but I just had to share the squee.

GG, I'm happy to hear that you've had some positive change at work and am crossing fingers and toes that DD gets kicked to the curb soon.

YAY happy Fay birthday!!

No cranky pants for meara! I think tomorrow, you should just be pantless.

Well, I AM wearing a skirt today...

And, for the first half of the day had no work to do...because the people who were supposed to have our stuff for us to review weren't here. So there was no stuff to review. So we sat around checking email and chatting about the future of the company, and then went to lunch. That was fairly anti-cranky. And then I found out one of the people knows someone I used to work with, and if I wanted, I could probably get some part time work there! And then someone else I know (who laid me off in January) offered me some work (not necessarily stuff I"d want to do, but lots of money, which is nice). So, that's cool and all...

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Pix, I'm thrilled for your great first day. I know that both the title and the recognition of your cert were a struggle for you, but if there ever was a master teacher, you're it. I'm so glad you're getting the recognition.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

Glad to hear your dad is getting taken care of

This one was especially helpful because while it gave the name of the department, they didn't give the phone number.

I wonder who is doing the website. When I first put up the website at my library back in CT -- there was a fatal flaw -- no where did I put the address on the website. got some odd emails.oops

Just call me "Siouxsie Shunshine".

Kristin, I'm so glad your first day went so well. You totally deserve the recognition. It's about time the school acknowledged all the talent you bring. NBCT is a big deal and you are one of the ones that the program was designed to showcase. Keep it up, you are doing amazing.

Thanks for the encouragement, too. It's a small step but is something good to hang onto for now. I don't think I can stay at the school much longer. It's a miserable place to work. For now there isn't much else for me to do; however, I'm looking. Next week I'm going to the NBCT orientation. It will really bug DD if I get NBCT in Drama. (not the reason I'm doing it, but it is a perk!)
