{{{{ND}}}} Healthcare for your mom ~ma sent.
Healing~ma for Calli's dad, too.
vw is my hero today.
I love all the Bitches. You all make the world a better place to exist in.
vw is better than good. She's awesome.
Heh. Thanks, guys. It's good to know that all of these years of having to figure out how to find what different things are called at different medical facilities is worthwhile to someone other than me.
It's actually stupid. There's a perfect word that Cashmere used--ombudsman. But, so many hospitals try to be "original" and come up with their own special name. I don't think they're trying to be difficult, but THEY ARE!
Usually, the patients' right and responsibilities handout will have who to contact if there is a grievance. Those are usually online. This one was especially helpful because while it gave the name of the department, they didn't give the phone number. So, a little more detective work, and there it is. I can't believe how ridiculous places are with this kind of stuff. It really is what someone said earlier--taking the "care" out of healthcare. It makes me so angry.

Oh, who are we kidding? That tag will never close with me.
~ma for your dad Calli
GO VW!
oh Drew. I hope this gets fixed. The last thing you need right now is another thing to figure out that someone else should be figuring out because it's their job.
I got to talk to Dad. He's still in Emergency. They don't know what's wrong with him, but they have him hooked up to various sensors and an IV for hydration and they're attempting to insert a catheter for the results of hydration. Apparently he's having trouble unclenching, so there're having some issues with that.
He says they don't know if they're keeping him over-night, but I'm thinking if they're just putting all these things into him at 7 pm, he probably won't be going home in the next few hours. I'll be heading to Kernersville tomorrow morning. [Crossposted with Natter]
vw, you are amazing and awesome. Hmmm, maybe I need to get you to take on draconian dictator and the screwed up school system here.
Drew, I'm so sorry you are having to deal with all of this. Feel free to whine, rail, complain, rant, away. Hugs and ~ma are sent your way. If you don't know I think you are amazing...I'll just remind you of that now.
IOmememeN: Today something 'interesting' happened. One of the AP's came to my classroom and told me they noticed I had 36 in Drama and 1 really small English class of 12. She also said she wants me to teach Drama (she might; however, there are others, *cough* DD *cough*, that give me pause).
So they have redistributed my 2nd block English class and made my 2nd block into another Drama class! They didn't separate the Intro from the Intermediate and Advanced, which was what I wanted to begin with and requested; however, now I have 14 in one class and 22 in the other. Not perfect; but, much more manageable.
It also shows that the principal hates being called out by parents. I guess he has received quite a few calls and e-mails from parents of my Drama students expressing outrage at the situation. Someone also told me that DD is on a 'development plan' with the county and if he doesn't shape up he might be reassigned. (that news brought me so much joy, I almost feel bad)
It is still going to be a really difficult semester and year. They still make me feel unwelcome and unwanted down there, but, I will get to know my kids better and 2 drama classes are better that 1.
Hmmm, maybe I need to get you to take on draconian dictator and the screwed up school system here.
Honey, I can only take on one system at a time!
Oh, ugh Calli. I hope you get some news soon, although, ERs are notoriously slow.

Now wouldn't that just be a crying shame.
I'm glad your class sizes and arrangements are becoming more sane.

I hope so, too. However, I'd rather have him in the ER for now (the one in Forsyth seems fairly nice, as ERs go), with nurses watching him and so on. The alternative seems to be having him back in his apartment and wondering if he wasn't answering the phone because he's in the bathroom or because he's lying on the floor.
I'm hoping they'll find something easily fixable, so I'll be able to take him home and not worry, much.
you might want to look into blister block, by band-aid.
thanks for the tip, Calli. Since these sock liners are working so well and I walk by REI on the way to the bus I'm thinking of just buying four more pairs.
