Ok. ND, call the Office of Patient Relations. The number for their Grossman Hospital office is 619-740-4060. That should be their direct line. If it isn't, I'll come out and cut a bitch.
Spike's Bitches 42: Which question do you want me to answer first?
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Also, if they are not appropriately helpful, call the San Diego office of the California Department of Public Health. Their number is 619-278-3700 or 1-800-824-0613.

Heh. Thanks, guys. It's good to know that all of these years of having to figure out how to find what different things are called at different medical facilities is worthwhile to someone other than me.
It's actually stupid. There's a perfect word that Cashmere used--ombudsman. But, so many hospitals try to be "original" and come up with their own special name. I don't think they're trying to be difficult, but THEY ARE!
Usually, the patients' right and responsibilities handout will have who to contact if there is a grievance. Those are usually online. This one was especially helpful because while it gave the name of the department, they didn't give the phone number. So, a little more detective work, and there it is. I can't believe how ridiculous places are with this kind of stuff. It really is what someone said earlier--taking the "care" out of healthcare. It makes me so angry.
t /health care soap box
Oh, who are we kidding? That tag will never close with me.
~ma for your dad Calli
GO VW!
oh Drew. I hope this gets fixed. The last thing you need right now is another thing to figure out that someone else should be figuring out because it's their job.
I got to talk to Dad. He's still in Emergency. They don't know what's wrong with him, but they have him hooked up to various sensors and an IV for hydration and they're attempting to insert a catheter for the results of hydration. Apparently he's having trouble unclenching, so there're having some issues with that.
He says they don't know if they're keeping him over-night, but I'm thinking if they're just putting all these things into him at 7 pm, he probably won't be going home in the next few hours. I'll be heading to Kernersville tomorrow morning. [Crossposted with Natter]
