Spike's Bitches 42: Which question do you want me to answer first?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I'm sorry, Drew. It's more scary shit and stress when I'm sure you don't have a lot left to deal with it. I hope it goes smoothly.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Oh Drew, I'm sorry all this keeps piling on you. I hope the surgery goes well tomorrow.

Our wings are not tired

Okay, I'm headed to bed for a bit.

I just want best possible outcome. Mom never expected to outlive my Dad, his death was sudden and she's been the one in bad health for years. She's heartbroken. They had been married for 49 years. I don't want her in constant pain. She's said repeatedly that she just wants to go. I'm actually very calm about that, and okay with it. But this? This is not the way it should go down. I'm sure she's in a lot of pain right now, and in the midst of grieving, and frightened about all of it. What's going to happen is going to happen, I just hope that if it's a bad outcome I get to give her at least one last kiss and tell her I love her.

Thank you everyone for all of your very kind words.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

You are very strong and brave, Drew. I will keep you in my thoughts and hope for the best for your mom.

not your mom's socks.

ND much ~ma for your mom, and for you and kristin. Safe travels home.

Yay for CJ! Way to go!

GG hOMFG. The brute squad is looking into an airlift.

I want to learn how to can.

We are at Raqs. Mallory-Iris convergence! Please to keep your pets indoors. They were up doing their best separated at birth routine until nearly 11 pm. Of course that didn't keep iris from waking at 6 and running to mallorys room to get him. She is despondently waiting while the rest of the house sleeps and the sun comes up.

And we get to bring the wet dishrag formerly known as iris to aunt sparky's tonight! I can't wait to see you and DH and sass Sparky. But first, let the games begin.

Mostly lurking...

Oh, goodness. {{{Drew and Kristin and Drew’s family}}} ENOUGH, UNIVERSE!!!

askye, isn’t it awesome to be an auntie?

CJ earned his yellow belt in Karate tonight.

Go CJ!

I think it'll be good for him. I've got a good feeling about this. I think this will be a good base for CJ in Denver.

I think so too. I think it was really a great thing to get him started in…and so quickly!

And I’ve read more, so {{{Drew}}}. So much surgery~ma for your mom today.

Of course that didn't keep iris from waking at 6 and running to mallorys room to get him. She is despondently waiting while the rest of the house sleeps and the sun comes up.

Awwww!

Congratulations to CJ on earning yellow belt!

“Not dead yet!”

Jilli, look what I saw at Barnes and Noble yesterday! First thing I thought when I saw the dump and the book was, "OMG, I hope Gothic Charm School gets something half this striking."

Ghost Girl Display

Full view

The book itself is lovely-- hardback, each of the pages has the same scrolled floral illustration that's at the top of the dump and while you can't tell from the photos (taken with my iPhone, so sorry about the quality) the coffin on the cover is actually a cut out and the girl figure is actually made of felt and then covered with clear acrylic or plastic.

(It's a YA, btw.)

Thrive to spite them

Besides finally learning my nephew's name I got some more information about my cousin, J, who died in June.

I called Grandma to tell her the name and she said they finally got the autopsy report. Not an Aortic Abdominal Anyerusm or whatever that is. He had a heart attack. He'd lost a bunch of weight and brought his cholesterol down but, well he had a heart attack. She said there were some things she and my aunt didn't understand, one was myocardial infarction, but they are going to talk it over with my other cousin J who is a doctor. (well he's a pediatrician but he can explain some things).

But they also got a call from the Lions Foundation and my cousin was an organ donor and someone had their vision restored/saved (not sure which is the right term) because of that. So some good out of this.

I guess I'm kinda sad because my nephew will never know my wonderful cousin in person, but we'll tell him stories.

Drew, I'm so sorry that you've had to deal with all of this. I'll keep you and your family close in my thoughts and prayers.
