Just keep on focusing on how much healthier this is going to be in the long run. I mean acknowledge the hurt (for both you and her, because Bob knows that when I've been hurt the last thing I want is someone telling me it's for the best). But maybe you can keep the other part in mind for your own mental health.

...The last few times I've spoken to S on the phone, she's been quite distant. It's not surprising, and it means she's working through it, but... ...it made me sadder than I was expecting.
Sean-- this is going to be hard for you, even though you are doing the right thing. Since she is the one being left, my best advice it to let her have whatever emotions she needs to. It will make you feel better to know she has come to terms with this (which she will eventually) but she may not be able to do that right now. Asking her to get to that place might lead to more pain for both of you. You may just have to live with someone who is mostly hurt and angry until you move. Doing the right thing sometimes just sucks, you know?
