Hee. Was there really a Ronnie Jenkins?
No, I made that name up.
There were "Ronnie Jenkins" equivalents.
'Destiny'
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

So my cousin is pregnant with twins (boys) and we're going to her baby shower on 9/6. I bought her a Baby Bjorn (was on her list), but now feel funny about only getting one when she's having two kids (and requested 2 Baby Bjorns). I spent around $100. Should I be buying something else or is the 1 BB okay? Maybe pick up a couple of outfits to add to the gift?
Kerfuffule Bunny just blew my mind!
awesome. Though I had a side-bet on there being a flaming cow.

Maybe next week.
I've actually stopped producing and posting them on the same day. I usually crack out a week or week-and-a-half's worth, upload them and schedule their posting.
Less stress that way.
eta: Monday was an exception, a move back to the olden tymes. But I just had to take my shot at OSC right that minute.
vw, I'm so sorry you're in pain. I'm wondering if you know of someone who can walk the dogs for you -- get them out of your hair for a bit and get them tired. I know it sounds silly for the dog-sitter to hire a dog-walker, but I think it would be money well spent in this case.
CBD is coming over later to help with the dogs. They actually curled up on the bed with me and napped for a bit, so it's ok. Thank you, though. And, actually, I don't know anyone who could easily do that. The thought had actually crossed my mind.
Should I be buying something else or is the 1 BB okay?
Ah, no. You did plenty.
Kermit-waves to Aims.
GC, the reason I make baby blankets is because I don't want people to know I'm only spending about $10 on them. Well, if I really, really love the person, I might use the out-of-print Winnie the Pooh design that I paid way-too-damn-much per yard for on eBay, in which case the cost is more $15. I think you have gifted generously as is, with nothing further needed.
thanks for the gay support
Just think of us as your... bra, that's how supportive we are. A big, frilly-lace, underwire, half-a-dozen stays, strapping into battle armor, anti-sag device. Also, w00t, getting married!
I was going to type more, but I think that last metaphor blew a brain-gasket.
Oh. Right. I'm glad you will be getting some help, vw. I'm loving that CBD of yours more and more. I'm glad you get to keep company with someone who is so kind.
Back to the ladies' sports teams - my college, the team name was the Yellow Jackets. The women's teams were referred to as the Lady Jackets. Bizarre enough to not ping me as offensive. And really, no matter how you muck about with this one, there's just nothing that is going to sound right.

Heh. With teams named after bees, wasps, and the like, I always think they should go for biological accuracy. Make the women's team the Yellow Jackets and men's team the Doomed Stingerless Drones.
I use the word "ladies" when I tell a mom and daughter(s) at the bookstore to "Have a good week, ladies!" The daughters are usually very young, and they get a kick out of being called "lady." I use the word "gentlemen" in similar situations with men and their sons, so I'm being equally old-fashioned.
Another place for "female"--police reports. Where I'd be female cauc, blonde/blue, 34.possibly armed with nailgun. "Ladies" will always make me think of Jean Harris' prison memoir."They Always Call Us Ladies" And the group home I used to live in. Because I made a Big Deal about no longer being a girl. So I got Jean Harris instead. Sigh. But I still say if all the other apartments were full of women, and there were 2 guys, they wouldn't make them "the boys"
