Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Also, here's an interesting article about Zappos corporate culture: [link] They offer trainees $2K to leave!

How about the name “Zappo”?

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

If he gets to be a fat cat, you can always rename him Zeppelin.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

not after the king, but the wry and elegant Saki character.

I didn't even know there was a king until just a short while ago. I always think "clovis point people." Hazards of majoring in anthropology/archaeology.

Yeah -- King Clovis followed Pippin, thus that kicked off the memory for me. Just to make things just a little more confusig, Clovis-the-kitty was a girl.

In my defense, I was probably about 12 at the time she got named.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Happy Birthday Sue!

I hope Tommyrot is okay, and comes back soon.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Happy Sue Day!

Come back, Tommyrot!

Upcoming guests on S2 of Yo Gabba Gabba include a number of Buffista favs:

What's cooler than a kid's show with Biz Markie and Mark Mothersbaugh?

A kid's show with them AND very hip guest stars like Jack Black, Melora Hardin (The Office), The Ting Tings (“Shut Up and Let Me Go”), The Roots, Andy Samberg (SNL), Jack McBrayer (30 Rock), Amy Sedaris (Strangers with Candy), MGMT, Rachel Dratch (SNL), Paul Scheer (30 Rock), Sal Masekela (E!’s Daily 10), Amare Stoudemire (Phoenix Suns), Jimmy Eat World (“The Middle”), Chromeo, Paul Williams (“Rainbow Connection”), Mates of State, Mix Master Mike (Beastie Boys), Ladytron, Datarock and Money Mark.

In other kid show news, PBS has a new superhero: Word Girl! She has all the power of words. Her sidekick is a monkey named...Capt. Huggyface.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I hope all is well in tommyrot land.

I'm also getting a little concerned if Sean is OK (relatively speaking). I know the universe has been kicking his ass in way too many ways, but I don't think I've seen a post of his in over a week. I hope I was just skimming and/or not seeing his posts right in front of me.

We're all getting played with, babe. -Weird Barbie

Frank, Sean is working on Halloween Horror Nights up at Universal and another big project, so he's been swamped. He's having a rough time, but he's not alone.

Worried about tommyrot, though.

hip deep in pie

Does anyone have a number for tommyrot? I'm kind of worried.

Thanks for the birthday wishes. I am having a party for myself which means I am spending the day cleaning and shopping and preparing food. It's a lot of work. Next year, I'll get Juliana to host my birthday too!

Kitten has the cutest face! I want to give him scritches. What about Zed?
