It's good to have cargo. Makes us a target for every other scavenger out there, though, but sometimes that's fun too.

Bastet" as a cat name. Or as anything at all, for that matter, but come on -- cat-headed goddess! Anybody?

I have some bath salts with that name...

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Happy birthday, lori!!!

And, happy anniversary PMM and DH!

Punishingly Intricate

Happy birthday, Lori! And happy anniversary PMM & her DH!

This is my vote for kitten's name

stretchy mclankerson

I've been laughing about it for like 5 minutes now! I love people names for pets. Esp names of former political figures like President Dwight D. Eisenhower. for example.

I named my cats on the spot when I first saw them at the shelter Swifty, because he seemed kinda slow, and Uncle Bud because that's what popped into my head. Talking with my dad later I realized that Uncle Bud was one of the many names of my great-aunt's husband who'd been dead for 15 or so years at that point. One of his other names was Uncle Chubby (we was a very large man) and I think I somehow thus doomed Uncle Bud, the cat, to a life of chubbiness. Although he really is big boned!

When my dog showed up stray at my friends' house they called a bunch of names to him to try to get him to come in from the back yard. "Frank" was the name that finally got him to come into the house. It really suits him.

I always wanted to get a cool looking cat and name him Bix Beiderbecke. Then I moved into my old apt and my neighbor's had this cat that was white except for his tail, chin and ears and I realized that he was Bix Beiderbecke. His "real" name was Oreo but it totally didn't suit. Anyway, I loved Bix. My neighbor was dying, and that last year of her life her cats often got left out overnight. And my bedroom window was about 10 feet from their back door, so Bix learned that I was an easy mark, and spent many a winter night in my house. But I realized I could never have a cat named Bix, because this Bix was the one true Bix.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Gods, I hate writing rejection letters even more than getting them.
