Yes, it's terribly simple. The good guys are always stalwart and true, the bad guys are easily distinguished by their pointy horns or black hats, and, uh, we always defeat them and save the day. No one ever dies, and everybody lives happily ever after.

“Not dead yet!”

I should not spend my time arguing with a pro-life, pro-McCain, anti-"the welfare class", anti-cursing person on another board, right?

Only if your half of the argument involves a chainsaw and marked lack of lube.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

No, but it sounds like cursing at them might be fun.

My groceries are late again. And I am HUNGRY. Fucking Freshdirect.

Barb, I'm so sorry about the contract Boo to the publisher.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yeah, no. Fuck 'em.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

No, but it sounds like cursing at them might be fun.

Many people are taking care of that. I felt it appropriate to remind her what McCain called his wife.

Water issues make me tetchy. Sorry, Jesse.

Speaking of, I kinda love NASA for doing this for their ike-hit employees of Johnson Space Center: [link] An earlier notice said the R&R place offers showers, potable water supplies and plugs to recharge stuff, tv, internet, air conditioning. Yay showers! Also, a moving truck from Goddard employees is leaving tonight after a Costco run to fill up on supplies for the Johnson folk. They were soliciting for donations.

I love passed out kittens.

Yeah, that's great!

My super just said not to take long showers -- the dry wall he put up is "supposed to be" waterproof...

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

The Dh just sent me this link, which I think will definitely be appreciated by Buffistas.

You are correct! This one, anyway.

OK, slight reprieve -- they are leaving at 9:30, so I still have to get there early, but I think I can wake up at the regular time and just bust a move out of my house in the morning.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I've gotten all three of my Zappos orders overnight. I'm willing to test it on a fourth order.

I just got an exchange overnight. Seriously?

It's a brilliant business plan - promise overnight and most people are happy and some freak if they don't get it on time. Don't promise but mostly deliver - 99% of us love you and feel all special, nobody's calling in complaining, and the few people who really need overnight for sure maybe cough up an extra $30.

so instead of getting my shower tiled in the morning, I have to go in to print stuff out by 9. Yikes. At least I'm not really supposed to be using the shower... that'll save time in the morning, anyway.

I can actually print stuff to the office printer from home. [Thank you, John McCain!]

Oh, that would be sweet. There are still packets to put into a bag, though....
