The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Palinopsia, from today's New Yorker blog:

A neurologist friend, Dr. Richard Ransohoff, has drawn our attention to an early contribution to the suddenly burgeoning field of palinological studies.

It is hoped that this paper, published, in 1989, in the Swiss-based journal European Neurology (Vol. 29, No. 6) may illuminate the phenomenon, often seen in Republican patients, whereby failed Bush policies are retained in policy-processing areas of the brain long after these policies have demonstrated themselves to be abject failures.

Dr Richard Ransohoff is my uncle. [eta: And Donald Fagen was his college roommate, hence the last line of the column.]

Wasn't the g-niece. But she wants me to have him. And he's home for now. G-niece hasn't shown up like she said. Guess she doesn't want him that much. Hmph. Still in limbo. But he's chowing down.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Congrats Burrell on the AP-ship and GadgetGirl on the niece!

Also, little kitty is sooo cute. I want you to have him sarameg.

That just got....interesting.

G-niece and her mother showed up.

I bought him for $30. Dubious about where that $$ will go, but. And got a hug from L, the woman who looked ready to HIT me when I pleaded to keep him. I just was REALLY FUCKING POLITE, ma'am, and said I'd fallen in love with him. And that I didn't doubt her daughter could take good care of him, it was just that *I* wanted to.

eta: said I didn't want him or me to be an issue between her and Miss Louise (bad blood there,) I just really wanted him. Totally toned down the whole "I spent $200 on him today" and focussed on "let's do what is best."

I'm fucking SHOCKED I pulled that off. And that I wanted to so much.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Good for you, sarameg. I hope this ends the weirdness?

Oh, good for you sarameg! And good that it did not escalate and you did what was best for the kitty. Did he/she come with a name?

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Yay, officially sarameg's kitteh!!

He came named Tiger, but I don't know if that'll stick.

I'm still not positive they won't try to, uh, negotiate (read: fleece me) but I think it was more pride and attempting to fuck with Miss Louise than actual strong desire for this cat.
