Kathy - is there alot of flooding by you?
It's flooding ALOT in the western 'burbs.
I've been hanging inside today and have no idea of the status of the Kish.

Emmett and I were puttering around on Haight Street and decided to go see Pineapple Express at the Red Vic.
It was funny but it wasn't entirely appropriate for Emmett. Still. After recounting that Franco, Rogen and Jason Segal were all in Freaks and Geeks, he insisted we bust the DVDs out when we got home. So now we're watching F&G and I'm pointing out all the actors who have crossed over to HIMYM.
Big news is: Matilda told JZ these very exact words, "I love you."
In fact, she's said it to each of us about seven or eight times now and we're all pretty much dying and giving her any treats she wants.
JZ now declares Matilda has achieved some kind of genius trifecta: she said "I love you," she ate and loved broccoli tonight, and now she's dancing around the living room to Joan Jett. She posits that a toddler could not be any better even if she were dipped in platinum.
I missed the game! I'm at Grandma's and forgot to put on the radio, it was only televised on ESPNU, which we don't get locally. THankfully after this game FSU is on a regular schedule, of teams not sure about tv.
Although this wasn't a shut out and the score wasn't as high but still a win!

Aw.
Hey, Dana, are you glad you're not in Houston anymore? I'm just glad my gulf coast Texas relatives live in houses on stilts. Which I assume held up....
Why is Sarah McLachlan and her husband splitting news right now. Didn't they announce that months ago?
I am wiped out, even though I had a very lazy day. I can't figure it out.
Hey, Dana, are you glad you're not in Houston anymore?
In a sense, yes, but our house down there doesn't close until next week, so if there's any damage to it, we have to deal with it. And if we were down there, we could deal with it directly. Now we have to wait for our realtor to make it over to check things out, probably tomorrow.
I am not sorry to be sitting in a house that has running water and power, though.
Aw, Matilda just kills with the cute.
Kathy - is there alot of flooding by you?
Yeah. A few co-workers at the bookstore came in and reported that their basements were flooded, and a customer was telling me that a friend of hers who lives in a basement apartment is completely flooded out (ouch! thank dog I live on the third floor!).
The news radio reported that some idiot in Arlington Heights (next-door suburb) decided to go swimming in the flood waters and ended up drowning.
Dana, I hope your old house is ok.
I spent a hurricane with my aunt and uncle down in Houston, years ago. It was crazy. My first hurricane, and I don't think I'd ever seen that much water in my life. Pretty sure their old house would've taken on water with Ike, because that one was an indirect, mild Cat 2 and the water was up to the door. Glad they are living outside of Austin now.
Matilda is gonna kill everyone with cute.
Yay, Matilda-- kill 'em with the cuteness overload!
Although this wasn't a shut out and the score wasn't as high but still a win!
Better still, they actually looked good (when I think of some of the sorry teams we played in the last few years and looked like we were struggling...)
Plus, the second half was all about the second teamers. It was seriously like a throwback game.
