How did your brain even learn human speech? I'm just so curious.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

I get a fair number of calls from telemarketers, survey firms, etc., where I pick up the phone and say "hello" and either they wait for me to say something more or they're totally flustered at getting a real live person (or reasonable facsimile of one) that they kind of gibber into the phone until they find their script.

If I'm in a good mood, I just hang up on them.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

It was a weak-assed hellohello too.

I picked up DC the episode after Pacey and Joey do it! Score! Or, missed by one :(

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

I'm going to need makeup for any employer interviews.

Groomed/"done" eyebrows, some under-eye concealer, mascara & eyeliner, and some sort of lip color. That's probably all you'd need.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

That cake head is seriously wrong. And it looked to me as though the helmet was pale pink with a bow on top ... which is really odd.

Ugh. Way too John the Baptist.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Back when I worked in the billing department of a hospital, somebody saw a mouse. The next day a guy dressed in a business suit, with a large briefcase, came by -- the exterminator, it turned out. Because hospitals HATE having large trucks decorated with vermin park in front, or indeed anywhere on the premises.

The guy takes his traps out of the briefcase, and then when he shows up again, uses little baggies to gather up the full traps and puts them back in the briefcase.

It was so... discreet.
