Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Happy Birthday Trudy!

Today was another of insanity, a team lead's eyes bugging out in horror in a meeting, a promise that something will.not.work, missing data (I wish I were kidding,) topped off with a trip with two crying cats to the vets', the vet having to pry Devi off my head, finished off with vomit and poop 10 seconds from entering my front door.

And I get to do it again tomorrow. With just one cat.

I am TIRED, peoples.

In happy cat news, Amon has begun sleeping on me, like Koogie used to. I came back from the middle of the night bathroom visit--yay, middle age--and I settled in. Amon trotted up and plopped down on my chest with a satisfied sigh, snuggling his head in under my chin.

I got a little teary.

Compassionately intolerant

Groomed/"done" eyebrows, some under-eye concealer, mascara & eyeliner, and some sort of lip color.

I pretty much never contribute to the make up/grooming discussions because I consider myself supremely inept. But, this week, I've changed my ways.

A good friend gave me a 10x mirror that is making me really happy...but a bit obsessed with the recreational tweezing. To the extent that I might need a 12 step program but that's another story.

In searching for a better class of tweezer, I discovered individual fake lashes...and they rock entirely.

My friends get theirs done professionally at $50 a pop. I'm estimating that I'll spend roughly $10 over the next 3 months. And they look great.

Even better? No mascara application...at which I suck like a person with no skillz.

It's great to finally have a win in a girl category.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I also had a vet visit today. Took Scruffy (the dog we are sitting for) in for a bad limp. It was a cut which had become infected, so nothing too bad. Well, the ginormous lime-green bandage on her paw seems to offend Scruffy's sensibilities, but nothing worse than that. Scruffy's owner is a truly lovely older British woman who is on a fixed income, so it is nice that we could take the pup in and get her well, and spare her owner the $100 fee.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

You're good people, Scrappy.
