“Not dead yet!”

Interesting. From skimming, it seems like it did come down to how much direct quoting & paraphrasing was in the Lexicon. And given the examples in there, I'd have to agree it was way, way too much. Sheesh.

I haven't followed the case to the letter, but what I've gotten from the bits I've read is that SVA's absolute sense of entitlement is what really got him into hot water. And there's no surer way to piss off an author-- especially one who's worked for so long on one world, then to say that you [the fan] deserve to be able to do something with that world not just for fun, but for profit.

Thing is, Rowling had been a huge supporter of the Lexicon website up until the point SVA wanted to publish. Lots of sticky wickets there.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Now I want pie. Oh, well...

Seriously. Like whoa.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

Why aren't there ice cream and pie delivery services? I'm far more likely to want ice cream than pizza if I don't feel like leaving the house.

Just call me "Siouxsie Shunshine".

the People to People exchange program?

One of my students want to Australia with People to People between her Freshman and Sophomore year. She said it was an amazing experience and I think it was so good for her. She is still close with friends she made while she was gone.

Pie, nom nom nom. I need to make a Chocolate Almond Pie.

PD season 2 starts on Oct 1. I can't wait!

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Yummmm, key lime pie...

(I have a serious weakness for anything citrusy, especially desserts and juices. I'm starting my diet up again tonight, so most sweet stuff is out the door, but I'm keeping my fridge stocked with concentrates of orange juice and lemonades.)

As long as we're on the subject of pie

hip deep in pie

I've never made a cream pie. Maybe that should be my next project.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Question: if You were ating a banana cream and chocolate cream layered pie, which layer would you like to see on top?

The banana has to be on the bottom so you can put that layer of sliced bananas down on the crust before the filling goes in. Otherwise they'll get all mixed up in the chocolate and it's madness!

Now I need pie.
